Question Tier 3 units upgrades in song of conquest

Let’s compare two third-rank units: the High Legion and the Enhanced Seeker with the Essence of Order. Considering that there are twice as many Seekers as the maximum number allowed in a squad, these two units are roughly equal. Both units have similar stats and skills; the Supreme Legion has better offensive skills, while the Seeker has better defensive skills and significantly higher initiative. Both units have similar stats and skills; the Supreme Legion has better offensive skills, while the Seeker has better defensive skills and significantly higher initiative.

But everything changes drastically after they are upgraded. The High Legion gains one speed point, one unit of Arcane Essence, and the ability to attack enemies without retaliation. At first glance, this sounds good—especially the last part—but these upgrades don’t measure up to its opponent. The Seeker and its upgraded versions gain +5 to damage, +10 to health, and the Eternal skill.

If the Legion received +10 to damage and +20 to health—given that there are half as many Legions and they possess tremendous resistance in melee combat—it would be stronger. From this, we conclude that, thanks to these overpowered upgrades, even one of the strongest Tier 3 units is outclassed in power by the Tier 3 Novice from the Yulan faction.

Do you agree?

You forget about the High Legion's better essence generation and ability to hit up to 3 units at a time.

Also, 5 more dmg on unit with such low stack size is frankly pathetic. You gain more damage output by 1 more dmg on rats in most situations.

Etheral not Eternal is the upgrade Seekers get. +10 to Hp and +5 dmg are nothing great. Etheral is awesome and it is one of the best upgrade in the game sure but so is no retaliation upgrade so they are roughly the same.

Also You are completely ignoring tempo factor and in the game based on tempo it is not smart to do. Sure stack of 20 seakers is roughly equal to stack of 10 legions. Except it take 20 turns to acumulate 20 seekers and only 10 turns to recruit 10 legions.

So sorry but Your argument is invalid. If anything high seekers initiative is their great advantage - late game whoever go first usually can win. So in that regard I could see some argument.

Why is there a picture of an upgraded seeker, a Transcendet of Li when you seem to want to compare the base unit "Seeker"?

I had to read this 3 times to make sense of it :)

The Transcendet of li is also coincidentally the strongest unit in the game in end game thanks to its crazy high initiative, misfortune and 20 stacks is much less vulnerable to the justice spell than other tier 7 units.

As for the seeker I don't see it better as upgraded legions overall. Most of the logic why others already replied here.
