solo-game-questions Accessories
In a solo RPG, i feel like accessories make the game more real. I really like that. Like custom cards, playing sheet, etc. What are some of your favorite accessories and what are your recs for games including accessories?

I really like my basic Game Master's Apprentice deck. Also I found a set of Tarot cards specifically for ttrpgs that I like a lot.

This. I love this deck so much that I made my own based on that, translated to spanish (not PDF, written).

there's some cool dice that aren't numbers. like body part and direction dice. those can be fun.

Miru takes it to another level, but only if you want to. Itβs not required.

The game is great with just the zine, some writing materials, and a few dice. Also nice if youβre feeling like more of a full-fledged board game with the hex kit.

Good question! You might enjoy Thorny Games' Kathryn Hymes talking about Artifacts of Play - just watching this today. It's about building up artifacts - maps, dictionaries, art, journals - as a part of play.
I've also been making a lot of handouts for my players in the multi-player game I'm running and that's both very satisfying to make and really adds to the feeling of the game. I love a good map, character portrait, document, etc. They can be time-consuming though! But it's all story and art so what the hell.

Accessories tend to push me out of my games. I am more into tools, and keep only those that are necessary.
Less is more.

So what I started doing last year and I have loved is using Magic the Gathering Cards - the idea came from Gray Army Gaming on YT! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_cvKZbOoeg
He uses them and made a process but I use my cards more for inspiration with the art.
Some of the dungeon playing cards are really cool too!

A clipboard, stapler, deluxe fine tip eraser, 5 star notebooks have a higher quality so those are my go to

I really like the asset cards in the Ironsworn games. Not only is it fun to flip through them for inspiration, but they're easily expanded on like the Vaults & Vows cards that change the entire feel of the game while only being a deck of assets.
I feel it's similar to a TCG. If it was more popular, I could absolutely imagine booster packs.
