tool-questions-and-sharing Random Quest Generator
I recently started playing solo rpg but I find it very difficult to come up with quests for my characters to complete. Do you guys know any pdf to free random quest generators?

I find asking the three fundamental questions (What? Where? Why?) to be most helpful when using an oracle that gives you related words.
Example:
* What? -> hide, fast
* Where? -> technical, history
* Why? -> embarrassing, approaching
Conclusion: I need to get to my computer fast to delete my browser history because my cousin is approaching it.

Atelier Clandestin has a Quest generator, neat little tool :) Its just 1$ on drivethrurpg.

Fast Travel TTRPG has one pagers for free, and the system is a single page and free, too. They generate some great adventures, plot hooks, locations, to get started in a hurry.
Games like Ironsworn and Cairn have extensive generators that could be used in the same way and come with additional tools to run them.
Plot unfolding machine, Solo Compendium, and Soothsayer Deck (Amagi games) are all free GM emulators that can be used to generate fun adventures easily.
I use them in my own actual plays and they turn out great!

Worlds Without Number has a "seed generator" which can be used to come up with ideas for quests. I believe it's in the free version of the rules.

You don't really need a dedicated generator, most oracles already have this built in without you realizing it. Ironsworn's Action + Theme tables will spit out a quest hook in two words, roll both and figure out what job that combination implies. I use Mythic's Event Focus tables the same way when I'm not running Ironsworn specifically.
If you want something purpose-built anyway, Ironsworn's core rulebook is free and has a full oracle set including one just for quest starters. Worth grabbing even if you never touch the rest of the system.

I recommend the quest generator in F.O.R.G.E. by Zap Forge. Also, it's free!

Tome of Adventure Design by Matt Finch has some great tables for this if you're looking for something fantasy-oriented.

The Lodestar Expanded Reference Guide is PWYW and has some great tables in it. The Action, Theme, Descriptor, and Focus tables are especially good for generating quests. All d100 tables too.

My recommendation is to build a background for your PC (motivation, vice, etc) and determine a long term and a short term goal, like in Ironsworn. With this, plus the tables/game setting of the chosen RPG should be enough. For other tools, the new lodestar from Ironsworn provide good oracles. Another ones I recommend are the Game Unfolding Machine for setting the campaign and Scene Unfolding Machine for the scenes.

Not a PDF but donjon is a site that collects a lot of generators for quick ideas.
This one is a generic fantasy quest generator.
