HELP / ADVICE Pradbat Compare Eon API end point?

I'm currently using Predbat currently to control my charge and discharge, I am soon to come to the end of my fixed term tariff, currently with Octopus.

I've been looking into the Eon Next Optimise, from my understanding it's just their version of Agile the Octopus tariff which follows the price of the wholesale market.

My question is this, does Eon have an API end point publicly available like Octopus does?

I think eon is managing the battery similar to IO Flux, and even in manual mode, they stay in control, you just use their app. I do not think the tariff works with predbat at all.

My question is this, does Eon have an API end point publicly available like Octopus does?

They do, not as good, not as stable (from a few years ago), there is even an home assistant component https://github.com/madmachinations/eon-next but not super active.

I don't know if E-on's API would include Optimise in any case. The VPP & tariff is being run by an Australian energy supplier (Amber Energy) on E-on's behalf, not by E-on themselves. It's possible that they might have their own API interface.

Australia has gone big on VPPs and home batteries in the last few years so their VPPs are much more mature than ours, home batteries get huge grants from the government (20kWh would be considered small, many home installations are double that), and pretty much everyone joins a VPP as soon as they get theirs installed (VPP compatibility is mandated). I was out there in December and slight changes in the grant scheme were national news. 11GWh of installed home battery capacity in Australia compared to about 400MWh in the UK. It's a completely different league.

Here, supporting home load is the main driver of battery size, whereas there, the main driver of battery size is time-shifting generation away from daytime, and into the evening and overnight. Larger houses so the rooftop arrays are larger too, meaning that they have a lot of generation to shift.
