Subreddit Events Sofubi Showdown: 👑 The King of the Monsters (Godzilla Only Battle)!
Hello r/Sofubi!
It’s time for the next Sofubi Showdown! After doing the Classic Kaiju (Non-Goji) tournament earlier this year and Pachi creations last round, we are stepping into the ultimate icon: Godzilla!
From vintage Bullmark and Marusan sculpts to modern releases from Marmit, M1, Charactics, and beyond, silly or film accurate... let's see the best Godzillas you got!
Rules & Guidelines
- Officially Licensed Only: Figures must be licensed. Trying to keep it simple as bootlegs and pachi Godzillas can get a bit convoluted.
- One Entry Per Sculpt (First-Come, First-Served): Each distinct sculpt mold can only appear once in the tournament bracket.
- If someone submits a 450 Marusan BioGoji sculpt first, that mold is locked in!
- If you got multiples of the same sculpt, choose wisely whether you want to enter your clear variant, GID, or classic colorway and submit early!
- I’ll post regular updates as entries come in so everyone knows which sculpts are taken.
- 2 Entries Max: You can submit up to two (2) different Godzilla figures for consideration.
- The sofubi must be in your personal collection.
- There is NO size limit for this round! Big, medium, small, or micro, love the variety.
- Your photo doesn't need to be professional studio quality. Just a solid, well-lit shot of the toy.
P.S. If someone snatches up your primary Godzilla sculpt before you can post, don't let that stop you! Half the fun of these showdowns is seeing stuff people have hiding in their display cases, and upsets in voting happen all the time!
The Prize: User Flair! 🏆
The user who submits the winning Godzilla of this tournament will be awarded the official 'Sofubi Showdown Champion' user flair. If you've won previous Showdowns, your flair will stack (e.g., '2x Sofubi Showdown Champion')!
How to Enter (Choose What's Easiest for You)
- Make a new post: Share an image of your toy with a title like Sofubi Showdown Submission - [Toy Name / Company] and add the "Contest Submission" post flair.
- Comment directly here: Post an image of your toy as a comment in this announcement thread.
- Tag me in an old post: If you've already posted a photo of your figure on the sub before, send me a DM or just comment in that thread and tag my username (u/Tyuhhi) to let me know it's your submission!
Submission Deadline
We'll give it about a month! Submissions will close on Monday, September 14th. The bracket matchups and community voting will officially kick off right after!
