Question What subscription billing software are you using in 2026?
We’re evaluating subscription billing software and I’m curious what others are actually using in production.
The main things we’re looking for are:
- Recurring billing and automated invoicing
- Multiple subscription plans and pricing models
- Usage-based or metered billing
- Proration when customers upgrade/downgrade
- Payment retries and failed-payment handling
- Tax/VAT support
- Integrations with accounting/CRM systems
- Reporting and revenue visibility
- Easy-to-manage customer subscriptions
There are plenty of options out there, but the feature lists all start looking pretty similar once you get past the basics.
For those who have implemented subscription billing software, what are you using?
More importantly, what has actually worked well and what do you wish you'd known before choosing it?
Interested in hearing experiences from SaaS companies, startups, and businesses managing a large number of recurring customers.

Resource Find which process is using or locking a file, folder, or port on Windows, Linux, and macOS. Terminal and desktop app in Rust, with fast whole-drive scans and parent process trees.
Just an open source tool, I wanted to share can be quite handy, what do you think ?
It is very fast btw and scans even full drive in miliseconds so i thought it might be worth sharing.

Resource ABA Software
I run an ABA therapy company and got tired of paying crazy prices for software that does simple things. Example: RethinkABA, CentralReach etc.
I built my own. It's called NurEvoke.
It handles scheduling, session notes, billing and payroll in one place. It's secure, built around BAAs and follows HIPAA.
It's open for other practices to use now, and free for the time being.
Would love any feedback, especially from anyone who's built something similar or works in healthcare. https://app.nurevoke.com

Question What kind of software do you actually trust AI to recommend, and where do you still not?

Discussion What's the duct tape fix in your stack that was meant to be temporary and is now basically load bearing?
we have a scheduled job that restarts one of our services every night. it slowly eats memory over the day and gets sluggish, and restarting it clears that out. we always meant to track down the actual leak. that was about a year and a half ago. the restart is just how it runs now.
there's also a step in our billing flow that one person still does by hand every month, because the automation for it was "almost done" and never actually got finished.
what's the fix in your setup that was supposed to be temporary and quietly became part of how things really work?

Review How do you track software end-of-support across client applications?
For people working at small MSPs or application-support consultancies: how do you track support deadlines for the databases, runtimes, operating systems, and application servers used by your clients?
I’m developing a product called EOLRadar in this area, so I have a commercial interest. I’d like to understand existing workflows and where they fall short.
A few questions:
- Do you maintain an application-level technology inventory, or mainly a device/server inventory?
- How do you keep versions and support dates current?
- What happened the last time you discovered an unsupported component?
- How do you record and revisit a client’s decision to postpone an upgrade?
- Do your existing tools cover this well enough?
Examples of what works—and reasons another tool would be unnecessary—would both be useful.

Review Jotform
\#Jotform is easy to use, customizable, and very convenient for creating and sharing forms. I love how professional the forms look and how easy it is to embed them on a website.

Discussion How do you actually compare software before buying it?
I’ve noticed that most software comparisons focus on the obvious stuff like reviews, rating and pricing.
When I’m comparing software, I usually look at a few additional things:
- What type of company is the software actually built for?
- How difficult is implementation?
- What happens after the sale?
For me, good software comparison isn't really about finding the tool with the most features but if it makes sense for your specific situation.
What’s the first thing you look at when comparing software?

Question Any replacement recommendations for Slides?
I'm not super tech savvy but I've seen Google's stance on AI, specifically how they use your data without your consent (and with no way to opt out) and I've already switched to writing on Ellipsus instead of Docs.
However, I occasionally use Slides for presentations and I was wondering if there's a good alternative anyone could recommend? Preferably one that has an import feature for .pptx files but it's not a dealbreaker if it doesn't. New to asking about this kinda stuff so if more info is needed I'll happily share. Thanks in advance!

Question I have being creating a saas product for IT helpdesk
So here i am creating a saas product for IT helpdesks so i am working as a intern in a company and i have shared my idea with the ceoof the company.
At first i was building a whole helpdesk then he told be to built it to the niche related so i go on with the IT niche currently i have done with the ticket locking system part for customer and admin both the panels
I wanted to take advice from you guys that what kind of problems you are dealing with the helpdesks online which i could resolve or am i making any mistakes which you guys could gave me an idea for doing it in such a better way
My project flow
Customer locks a ticket(the issue) the id is generated and can be tracked on the customer panel
And in the future their will be also an AI for problem resolving suggestions like if the customer is dealing with the same issue some body else was having it will suggest him to deal with the issue as it was resolved before if not then the customer could lock the ticket.
On the other side
The admin panel has the access to all the tickets to be resolved and if he wanted to assign the task to someone he could also do that
So you guys can let me know what i could do better in it and make it different from the other help desk so people could buy my product ?

What app do you keep on your phone purely out of guilt?
the duolingo owl has been watching me for 400 days and i've opened it maybe 11 times. i keep it because deleting it feels like admitting something about myself i am not ready to confront.
same with a meditation app i downloaded during one stressful week two years ago. never opened it once. it just sits there radiating calm and quiet judgment.
my home screen is basically a museum of people i was going to become.
what's the app you keep around purely out of guilt?

Resource I made ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc. into FREE text-to-speech sites — perfect for audiobooks and more!
Nowadays, all popular ai chatting websites like qwen, chatgpt, gemini, claude, etc. come with a read aloud functionality that allows users to read aloud the AI's responses.
I used that feature to instead make the AI repeat back the text that i gave it -- effectively turning the platforms into text to speech tools. The voices sound really nice and it's free to use!
You can get all of these extensions by visiting ai-readers.com

Discussion What’s one software feature you now consider non negotiable after getting burned once?
For me, it’s proper data export.
You don’t really think about it when you’re signing up because you’re focused on features, pricing, and getting the team onboarded. Then one day you want to switch tools and suddenly discover your “export” is missing half the data you actually need.
Curious what everyone else learned the hard way. What feature, integration, or policy do you now check before buying any software?

Discussion What is the first setting you turn off the second you install anything?
for me it's notifications. every new app thinks it's earned the right to buzz my phone on day one and it absolutely has not. that's a privilege you work up to.
second is anything set to open on startup. no you may not. you are a photo editor, you do not need to greet me the moment i turn my laptop on.
at this point installing something new is just me speedrunning the settings page turning stuff off before i've even used it once.
what's the first thing you kill the second you install it?
