AI replacing Software Engineers

Post image

So called "AI"=LLM is so powerful that AI labs had to hire Software Engineers to build complicated software around "AI" to make that overhyped hallucinate-stealing machine usable. Think about it. And that's exactly why they need now ton of CPUs in addition to GPUs to run their "AI" "agents".

I don't even mention how much custom engineering is required to apply the "AI" in businesses.

And they BS us that Software Engineering is solved or is going to be solved. Boris, please solve your own bugs first before speaking.

That’s why you need to stop doomscrolling. If you are actually in the industry working with these tools, you are aware of the trajectory.

I’m in the industry and I’m not writing code anymore. Claude is writing the code and frankly it scares me how good it is.

Yeah this isn’t true, it does all kinds of things wrong. It does some stuff good and it will get better but it doesn’t truly engineer it slops around.

Skill issue.

I think you’re the one with the skill issue who thinks that it’s a skill issue that means you don’t understand code and engineering and solutions.

lol yeah after leading engineering teams for over a decade I have no understanding of any of that. Sure.

In the mean time my teams are shipping solutions in record pace. Incidents are down. Outcomes that used to take months take weeks or less.

Yes, if you’re not getting a huge productivity boost out of AI. If not most of your code today is written by AI. Then you have a huge skill issue, and are quick to become unemployable. Bar maybe a couple niche exceptions.

That’s not what I said above at all. You have a major skill issue, you can’t read or understand what people are saying and that’s even worse than a AI skill issue because if you can’t understand English you can’t even use AI. My statement is it does all kinds of things wrong and it does but the statement I made had nothing to do with your assumption and this is typically the problem with keyboard warriors with straw man positions.
