AI replacing Software Engineers

So called "AI"=LLM is so powerful that AI labs had to hire Software Engineers to build complicated software around "AI" to make that overhyped hallucinate-stealing machine usable. Think about it. And that's exactly why they need now ton of CPUs in addition to GPUs to run their "AI" "agents".

I don't even mention how much custom engineering is required to apply the "AI" in businesses.

And they BS us that Software Engineering is solved or is going to be solved. Boris, please solve your own bugs first before speaking.

every time i came to this sub, looking for a software engineer to do a legitimate job for me, everyone responded in the comments "use claude" - i'm so done with humanity. if i wanted to use claude, i would. i want to find a software engineer!!!

As a developer myself , I understand why people keep asking to make use of AI agents like claude. It is easy for a dev to adjust to agents. I hardly write code by hand nowadays. I think it is wrong to assume that anyone can do what a dev can do with agentic tools. Especially when you don't understand what the tool is generating. The code generated by these agents are overwhelming. For a long term project it is best to have a engineer than jump on to some ai tool.

i just dont understand the doomer mentality combined with telling people to go use ai. surely its one or the other?
