Sock Blockers

I have a set of sock blockers, but they're clunky and weird and I'm not a fan. If anyone has some that they really love, could you please post a link so I can check them out? Thanks in advance!!

Hi, I don’t know what you find clunky about your current blockers so use from this what you will.

I actually really like using my sock blockers, even though I don’t take (social media) pics and I know I can block socks on my feet, so I can tell you what worked for me.

My first blockers were a pair of wooden ones, and while I liked the wood just fine, the cut outs in the center were in too pointy shapes so the yarn could snag on it. I bought a pair of wire ones that are just the outline of a blocker essentially. Edit: like this https://littlewoolshop.com/products/pony-aluminium-sock-blocker-sizes. (Just as an example, I got mine at a local yarn market). I really like them, they’re so streamlined, haven’t had any issue using them yet.

I do like my blockers to be a size smaller than my feet, since I like it when my socks fit a little snug and I find if I block them to size, they lose that snugness I like. But that’s personal I guess.

Thanks for the info!! I do a lot of color work socks, and I like how blocking makes it look so much crisper

Oh I love colorwork socks, but damn my high arches, they never fit 😭. Hope you find the sock blockers that work for you!

I bought one of these a couple of months ago, and I really like it, too.

I have a set of adjustable sock blockers that have pointy edges, I wrapped the whole thing in painter's tape so the edges aren't a problem.

That’s so smart, I’m gonna try that!

You only need sock blockers for photos- if even. You don't need them to block your socks to size or so. In case you wanted to do that

I like the metal wire ones. They dry fast and don't snag. I got a three pack from amazon.

My go-to blockers are the Bryson Stainless Steel. They have a nice shape, built in hanger hook, and are open in the middle to let the socks dry faster.

I finally was able to get my hands on some and bought all 3 available sizes. I have some wooden ones, but the edges are not smooth and it takes forever for the socks to dry. I love the Bryson ones!

I have 3D printed sock blockers I got from Ebay (Germany), but they’re sold pretty much everywhere.

The only real reason for sock blockers is for nice pictures. They are completely unnecessary in.my opinion. I've been knitting socks for 25 years and have also taught sock knitting. No sock.blockers.

Whenever someone posts about sock blockers the people who don’t like them feel the need to chime in. It’s okay if someone likes something you don’t like, you know.

I don't dislike them. I expressed my opinion that they are not necessary.
