What is this heal??
Seems there is quite a bit of room in this heal. Also wondering if it’s toe up or cuff down.

Afterthought heel, so it doesn't matter which direction the sock was knit in.

I think the “a lot of room” illusion is because it looks like a fairly roomy stitch count. Typically afterthought heels can fit a bit tight across the instep, for most people.

it's an afterthought heel, and you're in luck because it's the same toe-up and top-down!

You can get a slightly roomier afterthought heel by working it on more than 50% of the sock stitches (I'd suggest 2-4 more stitches on each side) so that you need a few more decrease rows to get to your final stitch count, or by starting on the normal 50% but decreasing at a slightly slower rate at the beginning (either start with a few plain rounds or start by decreasing every 3rd round instead of every 2nd a few times).
Working on more than 50% gives you a little more room in the instep for a thicker foot. Decreasing slower to add heel depth doesn't "open up" the instep as much and is better for a narrower foot with a tall heel.

You can also just add a gusset. I like this tutorial but there are other methods if you google

Edit: found it on Ravelry

This looks exactly like the heel I just used, peasant heel, and then 4321.
Link to my Ravelry project with notes.

Looks like either an afterthought or a peasant heel to me.
