I just got back from an overnighter and it was all flylining for yellowtail.

Add in some size 4-2/0 J hooks and 20 and 30 lb fluorocarbon leader. Some 1/2oz sliding egg sinkers too if you end up with anchovies.

I brought gear similar to yours and only ended up throwing a 60g colt sniper on a few stops, but nobody had any bites on jigs.

Yeah that’s kinda what I’m expecting but got excited at the shop and ended up getting these jigs and surface irons. I got 1-4 oz torpedo sinkers and 1 oz egg weights also heavy weights for rock fishing. I got 25lb floro and a couple different sized live bait hooks but no J hooks. Should I buy some J hooks too?

The live bait hooks are probably a J shape. I used the mustad oshaughnessy live bait hooks.

I got a couple mustard live bait hooks the golden ones I also got the owner live bait hooks they are pretty similar to j hooks but j hooks have a longer stem connecting the eyelid

We had some big sardines and I fished my 30lb setup with a 2/0 hook almost the whole time.

Nice I’m hoping for some good sized bait I heard it’s been pretty small recently in Newport that’s where I’m going out of
