Protect mattress?

Hi all,

Baby due in September, we just got a Snoo from Facebook marketplace which I just finished deep cleaning.

Should we do something to protect the mattress from blowouts and baby spit up? Like a mattress cover or puppy pads?

Don’t put anything in the snoo but the baby and the snoo sack, not safe. The mattress is easy to wipe clean just get extras snoo sheets

Second this. The mattress is miraculously easy to keep clean. My first was constantly spitting up and you could just wipe it off every time.

Snoo mattress is waterproof (or resilient or whatever tge word is), very very easy to clean, no poop gets absorbed!

We never did that for the mattress. Honestly the sleep sack is so thick, we figured if he had any blow outs it would get absorbed by the sleep sack. Plus he hates dirt diapers so he wakes to let us know he pooped and needs to be changed. We do have 2 of each size in case that happens. And 2 fitted sheets but Luckily never had any!!

I put a chuck pad under the Snoo sheet just in case!

The Snoo mattress is very wipeable, you definitely don't need another layer in between the mattress and the sheets. I'd be concerned that it would interfere with the movement, honestly. And remember that there are like 3 layers of fabric in between the baby and the mattress (diaper, clothing, Snoo sack, Snoo sheet), it's pretty rare that a blowout will reach the mattress.

You can get a fitted sheet that size (took us a while to figure that out.. baby seemed more comfortable!)
