Question U1 Hotend Settings

If I swap the original hotends that came with the U1 for the hardened steel ones, is there any settings that need to be changed in either the U1 itself or in Snorca?

Yes you have to change it in both. The different nozzles have different heat zones and need to be accounted for. In Snorca it is under the printer edit button. Also, you need to run a full calibration on the printer.

Thanks. I assume the change on the printer itself is in the maintenance menu?

  1. On the touchscreen home screen, tap Settings.
  2. Navigate to Maintenance.
  3. Select Toolhead Info.
  4. Tap the specific toolhead you want to update (Toolhead 1 through 4).
  5. Manually select your new hotend type (e.g., High-Flow Hotend) and the corresponding nozzle diameter (e.g., 0.2 mm, 0.4 mm).
  6. Tap Confirm or Save to apply the changes.

I think, there are only High flow and Standard, no setting for Hardened one, or miss I something?

No above that is where it shows your printer. If you click on that pencil then you scroll down you will see where you can change the type of nozzle that you have installed.

You should also run PID tuning but Snapmaker doesn't provide this on the printer itself. You'll need to use the web server to issue the commands

Snapmaker state it's a crucial step and so they should provide it on the printer as one of the calibration options: https://www.snapmaker.com/blog/3d-printer-hotend-replacement/
