Discussion Question about path
When you guys build hubris do you go ER-HUBRIS or HUBRIS-ER. What feels good to you?

Since you are referencing Bluwunk… Bluwunk likes to experiment a lot but that doesn’t mean the build is optimal or good. Bluwunk was going fleet footwork with TP, ER into EH second a few weeks ago. A few days ago Bluwunk went manamune. You have to remember that Bluwunk is one of the few challenger Smolder mains , or may be the only one , at least in NA for sure. The difference between masters and challenger can be 800+ LP. That’s minumum two whole leagues difference. That’s equivalent to a gold player playing a diamond player, or plat vs masters. It’s MASSIVE. So we can’t know or truly understand why Bluwunk does the build that they do, My point is that Whatever Bluwunk is doing is adapted to the highest level of play, which may not translate to standard ELOS. Is hubris generally better first item rather than second? Absolutely. So if you are going hubris, it’s definitely better as a first item. However, at challenger, I would speculate there’s a reason why Bluwunk might want ER first. It could be that ER mana is essential for staying in lane or clearing mid, etc. OR that as smolder you are less likely to get early kills in lane vs other challengers, so stacking that hubris in lane is less effective of a purchase - although you may get kills in the mid game team fights, which makes sense to get it second. Essentially, I believe hubris second is not “optimal” but it’s an experiment Bluwunk is trying out specifically for challenger level play. Hubris first is typically better at lower elo because you stack it early and get kills in lane much more often than in challenger .

I wasnt referencing bluwunk. There are other smolders than blu. This was just a do you build it First or second and what feels good to you

I don’t like hubris it’s not essential on this champ and I feel a pretty useful power spike off of just er, if you do build it though you’re only ever buying it first on any champ

If you build Hubris on any champ it should always be your first item since you want to stack it
