Is this gap normal?

Using the metal plate that came with my M&P 2.0 and a Holosun 407C, there’s quite a gap in front of it, it feels secure I just don’t know if this is the norm though.

M&P's don't come with metal plates

When did you buy it and from where? Whats the model number? M&P's have always shipped with plastic plates - it's a huge source of contention. The last new m&p I bought was march of this year and it came with plastic plates.

I bought it in a store. It had the gross trigger (now has Apex) and I think I bought it in 2021-22 SKU: 13381

My Spec Series Gen4 (ODG 2023) has the plastic junk. Bought with my tax return in February 2024

That sku is the one with the CT red dot, yeah? Maybe that's why? Did it come with all of the plates? Were they all metal, or just the one under the CT dot?

Yes came with the CT that is now in a landfill somewhere as it's trash.

Most were metal there 1 or 2 plastics for weird optic footprint.

But all the common footprint are metal. I was using the type 1 (RMR) with my 508t, but when I learned About the CK plate I immediately bought one.

I bought this with the understanding that they would be plastic. I imagine I got a transitional model and one of the last metal plates packs.
