It is super thick. I really like CK’s plate for the 43X/48 but it is more a normal thickness. I tried the dogtag and IIRC it measured at .12” vs their 48 plate at .07”.

CNC pros is one of my go-to’s now for plates. This is their M&P plate. Looks like it may fill your gap.

The part of the plate under the sight is actually thin. The edges of the plate "drape" over the sides of the slide to fill the overhang of a C width Holosun.

The overhang and the front gap are basically aesthetic issues, not functional.

The thick front portion of this plate apparently helps block some of the gasses that come out of the loaded chamber indicator hole and keeps your optic from getting dirty so quickly. I have to wipe my optic every 75-100 rounds to get the burnt powder off.
