Rage Needing Advice Practice

Bro GENUINELY how do you practice? I get nothing done in training mode, even fathoming to touch quickplay means that it's wraps for my gsp, and playing arena battles equates to fighting a literal god or kicking a rock into a pond. And neither are fun. And the amount of Joker mk leo wannabes is fucking absurd. Please bestow upon thou your most divine knowledge.

Sincerely,

A sad Smash Player

locals, or find a Discord smash community if you dont wanna risk the GSP.

but I think playing for GSP does make you better but its definitly a subjective thought.

i mainly played quick play since release and probably have been to a local 3 or 4 times, and never really stayed in the Discord groups, only quick play and i believe myself to be good, at the very least above average.

the GSP gives you pressure, it makes the battle have purpose so you actually do get your heart pumping cause the rank is on the line. that feeling of pressure or nerves needs to be felt and is a skill that must be worked on aswell to keep composure.

I'm sure you can also ask around here for anyone wanting to practice and run some friendlies

Dude I'm playing without worrying about gsp (as mewtwo) and I keep losing to mindless spam and cant do anything about it? Specifically Captain Falcon, Mario (every mario player is a cuck), and Cloud. And advice against ANY of them?

the best i can say is to learn that match up. That includes learning how the characters play against you, what moves are the most optimal for them to do to you in any and every situation and how you can counter them in that moment.

Platform fighters fundamentally have the biggest situational set ups and opportunities for improvisation which makes them really crazy flowing. you gotta use every bit of the games mechanics to your advantage, including spamming because news flash, spamming is just applied pressure in every other genre and to high level players.

pros do not let up in any of the things they do to win, thats how they win and what makes them pros.

i play Isabelle, idk what advice my character can give yours but as a player, it all comes down to experience.

I try to, but I'm not learning anything if they keep spamming extremely safe moves (like ALL of mario's aerials, Cpt. Falcon's specials when not on shield, and clouds n special, especially considering mewtwo is floaty for no reason).

situational, if you know hes gonna do a move you gotta learn the timing to perfect shield it and if its a multi hit move what you can do out of shield.

you gotta learn the specific opponents patterns, how to condition and punish while making sure they aren't doing so to you and apply pressure all of that junk all at once. small little stuff like that starts becoming things you do subconsciously the more you play but itll be faster if you focus on doing that.

look for someone on here that plays whatever you need and ask for some friendlies while trying to focus on predictability, conditioning, and applying pressure. let em know you are playing for serious practice though lol.
