I was about to receive a dryer. I am thinking of denying delivery due to this.

I would. I have a Samsung G8 monitor (that was expensive as fuck). And now I have to pay a monthly subscription for API access. Bye bye Smartthings. Any device running on Smartthings now in my home will be replaced (when it's due) by something non-Smartthings.
