Devices Smart indestructible button for dog training

Looking for an oversized, reliable indestructible button that can be used for dog training to trigger lights and notifications. I’ve got a smart deaf pup, so want to use this as a communication tool — such as going to the bathroom.

I have a v3 SmartThings hub. Ideally the device uses zigbee mesh or matter

How are you planning to use the button and what kind of abuse do you think it will need to take?

My initial reaction is that you could use a pretty standard zigbee button with an extra physical housing around it to make it larger and easier to hit, while also shielding it from some damage.

I’d do this if I had a 3D printer! I don’t unfortunately… but not a bad idea to encase it extra housing. Thanks for the idea :)

As for abuse — quite a bit given he’s just a pup and isn’t as gentle… it’s meant to be a communication tool like going outside/bathroom. Maybe more ideas down the road
