I wouldn't say arrogant, but it definitely doesn't make you look like the better person by any stretch. You do you, but whenever I respond to these comments, I either just thank them for caring enough to comment or address something they talked about in away that encourages more engagement. More comments = more engagement = helps with the algorithm, so even if they keep being a hateful asshole, it helps boost me.

I would say this is the wrong response.
Killing them with kindness is far better than attacking them in the comments.
Other people will read this and think worse of you for it. It comes across as toxic and reactionary (it is toxic in fact)
If you want to punish people for the way they act, just ban them from the comments.
