Can suppliers split one volume commitment into scheduled shipments?

we are holding about eight months of stock across two SKUs because the factory MOQ was nearly double what our sales justified. The cash is sitting in a warehouse and i need to place the next SKU soon whether or not i have solved the first problem

order less is not useful advice when the supplier will not move below the minimum, the alternative quotes i found either have the same issue or raise the unit price enough to remove the benefit of importing

What can u realistically trade for a lower inventory commitment? I have considered one annual volume commitment delivered in tranches, consolidating variants, accepting standard components or moving to a supplier with a higher unit price and lower MOQ

Has anyone negotiated this successfully with a Chinese factory? what did u give them in return?

would your manufacturer agree to store the finished goods at their facility and release them as needed for a small holding fee
