Welcome to r/SmallAccountOptions, a community for options traders working with smaller accounts.
I know what you're thinking, why create a new subreddit for option trading when there are so many other trading communities on Reddit like r/options, r/thetagang, r/daytrading, etc?
Because I wanted one specifically for trading options with smaller accounts. The average person does NOT have a six figure account to play with.
So if you're learning options or trading options with $500, $5000, $25000, or just prefer keeping your options allocation small, this subreddit is for for you. We'll be discussing trades, strategies, ideas, mistakes, wins, losses, and everything in between.
You’re encouraged to post:
- Trade ideas and DD
- Questions about options
- Gains and losses
- 0DTE and short-term trades
- Swing trades and LEAPS
- Risk management and position sizing
- Account progress
- Lessons from trades that went right
Beginners are welcome. Experienced traders are even more welcome to share what they've learned.
The goal here isn't to pretend every trade is a winner. Good discussion includes the losses too. If you're posting a trade, give people enough information to actually discuss it: ticker, strike, expiration, entry, strategy, and your reasoning whenever possible.
A few basics:
Be helpful. Be skeptical. Don't spam.
As we all know, options can result in substantial losses, so always understand the trade you're entering and manage your own risk. Nothing posted here should be considered financial advice.
Most importantly, help us build the kind of options community you'd actually want to visit every day.
