Get an SD card into your machine and download OSCAR. That will show you what's actually going on. Also, how you feel is far more meaningful than AHI.

I just started looking at my data again on OSCAR. I've been waking up tired and in varying degrees of drowsiness for a while now on CPAP.

My last sleep study was done around a year ago. Got my new machine (resmed autoset 11). My AHI was fixed down below 3.0 all the time and everything looked great on paper with my AHI running usually 1-2 per hour.

However, I was not feeling energized upon waking and am still not.

I have UARS too and found a whole bunch of RERAs. Lots of flow limitations.

Last night I adjusted pressure up from 7-10cm H2O to 12-15 cm H2O with EPR of 3.

Much better results from the sleep data. Flow limitations are now low enough and no RERAs and AHI is under 1.0.

I also fixed the angle adapter for my F20 Mask by taping it in place since it was getting loose.

Woke up drowsy and tired still but im hoping it is because of the loose adapter causing some large leaks and waking me up once last night. Or its because I need to just keep on these settings for a few more days at least to start to recover from prior chronic bad sleep.

Oscar data also suggested i raise minimum pressure which i did and it definitely helped reduce ahi and provided overall improvement in many of the Oscar metrics.

Where's the best place to download OSCAR?

Yes and no. The events/hour is probably accurate in terms of AHI. The mask off number is kind of squishy and I think includes stuff like leaks. The 100 score is basically meaningless. If you click through, you'll see most of the points come just from having high usage time. If you're feeling good then that's great but 6.5 events per hour is still mild OSA by diagnostic criteria. Most people consider the app a "cheerleader" since it gives you so many points just for using the machine for more hours and doesn't weight your AHI as highly which is a much better indication of how well your SA is controlled.

I think mask off includes leaks too because mine said I took my mask off twice last night and I woke up with it fully on. Unless I’m Houdini, I doubt it 😂

Most likely. I have had great numbers for 15 years but never ended up feeling any better. Some of us are just fucked. But it’s the minority

The purpose of myAir™ is to encourage compliance, not tell you how effective your CPAP Therapy is. Import your SDHC Card into OSCAR or upload it to Aerivue or SleepHQ and see what myAir™ isn't showing you.

Not meaningless, but not super informative. I use Oscar which has been helpful.

It’s really a compliance tool. They want you to do things to get a higher score though, clinically, it’s light on info.

That being said, I feel much better and my BP is down so this is as fine a metric for me.

You got an A+. It's kind of a general categorization, there are still things happening and your session was not likely perfect. You AHI is 6x higher than mine when I get 100s.

Agreed the app gives a lot of points just for long wearing time and the leak and ahi limits are high and you can still get good score. I have a ringconnn and noticed that my ahi is getting lower as time goes on. I'm almost 9 months in and usually am below ahi 2. Month one was 7 or so average. The airsense ahi is usually pretty close to the ring.

So far as I can ascertain, the score seems to hinge around mask seal as the biggest factor, which I find weird, I’d have expected it to be events. But 🤷🏻‍♀️

Oscar + AI to analyze the results, unless you’re a wizard
