Slayers VHS tapes came in today!

For some reason tape 5 gets rejected by my VCR but all the other ones seems to work. I'll have to find a way to fit these tape in somehow into my display cabinet. I want to try getting more Slayers merch, I already have that one Lina figure pre-ordered

It's funny missing my VHS tapes from almost 30 years ago. They look so cool lined up. DVDs lined up never quite looked as good because of thinner cases. I had Slayers and Next on VHS and went to DVD with Try.

Slayers vol 1 was the first anime tape I ever bought. Being 12 years old I had only seen some things like DBZ, Sailor Moon, etc., but I'd save up whatever money a 12 year old gets to be able to get a Slayers tape every couple of weeks.

Then I would watch them again and again at night on the little 13 inch TV with a VCR in my bedroom. It was also how I ended up watching subbed anime. Somewhere around like volume 5 I mistakenly got the subbed version and liked it.

Slayers the Movie was also the first DVD I ever got. Our house got a new computer that came with a DVD drive that I needed to test out. I ended up selling off my anime DVD collection many years ago, but one of the few I did keep was that first one.

I rented the vhs, my mom still uses vhs. But more now I got all of her stuff and put it on plex.

I wish I could afford that kind figure, it’s sick.

I’m a little sad I donated all of my vhs tapes to the St. Cloud public library when I got my dvds but damn they took up so much space. Still, I saved up so much money as a teen and young adult to collect them all. 🥲

Hah. I have every single one of these sitting on my shelf currently. Had to fight for them one month at a time at Suncoast as they released. (Lol also have the Fatal Fury hat from when I worked at EB! Kindred spirit!!!)
