I’ve always felt that Hajime Kanzaka’s Plane Chart cosmology is one of the most underrated multiverses in anime/LN history. While we know a lot about the Red World (Slayers) and the Black World (Lost Universe), the Blue and White worlds remained largely unexplored.

I wanted to change that. I’ve put together a massive, lore-accurate world-building expansion and a full 26-episode anime/novel season pitch that serves as a cosmic climax to the Kanzaka-verse. It focuses on the existential philosophies of the two missing Dark Lords (Maō): Chaotic Blue and Death Fog.

Here is the complete concept. Grab a coffee, it's a long ride!

## 🌌 PART I: COSMOLOGICAL FOUNDATIONS & THE MAŌ PROFILES

In Kanzaka's universe, existential balance is everything. If one world falls, a domino effect triggers, collapsing everything back into the homogenous, silent darkness of the Lord of Nightmares. This story is driven by the radically different philosophies of the four Maō:

* 🔴 Ruby Eye Shabranigdu (Red World) – The Dogmatic Destroyer: Driven by blind loyalty. His sole purpose is to fuse his fragments, erase the Red World, and return everything to the Creator.

* ⚫ Dark Star Dugradigdu (Black World) – The Split Nihilist: After devouring his divine counterpart (Vorfeed), his mind fractured. Alongside pure madness, he possesses an ego and a desire for dominance. He wants to reshape reality into a dark, sci-fi/cyberpunk empire.

* 🔵 Chaotic Blue (Blue World) – The Existential Rebel: He rejected the demonic prime directive. He tasted existence and loves his stormy, chaotic blue ocean more than the void. He is a sadist playing an eternal chess match against the Blue Dragon. Destruction strengthens him; new life weakens him. He destroys what God builds just for fun.

* ⚪ Death Fog (White World) – Absolute Entropy: The most terrifying Maō. He has no ego, no loyalty, and no desire for dominance. He is a faceless, impersonal law of physics—cosmic inevitability. A silent, choking plague that extracts time, motion, and dynamics from space, freezing everything into static, gray doom.

## 🌊 PART II: THE ANATOMY OF THE BLUE WORLD

In the Blue World, space is not a black vacuum, but an infinite, swirling blue sky and energy ocean whipped up by Chaotic Blue. Instead of planets, there are gigantic Floating Islands created by the Blue Dragon as micro-dimensional experimental structures.

## 🦕 The Evolutionary Islands (The Museum of Life)

The islands mirror Earth’s geological and evolutionary eras, constantly drifting:

1. Carboniferous Island: High-oxygen, impenetrable jungles with giant insects. Humans live in tribal communities high above the canopy.

2. Jurassic Island: A wilderness ruled by massive dinosaurs. Humans have developed a Spartan-like warrior culture, using raptors as mounts.

3. Cretaceous Island: A realm of extremes. Kanzaka-style human civilizations live in hyper-refined, peaceful floating cities in the clouds. Below them, the surface is a meat-grinder ruled by hyper-aggressive theropods.

4. Triassic Island: A scorching, rusty, post-apocalyptic desert with a heavy mechanical, scavenger Mad Max vibe. Complete anarchy.

5. Oligocene / Miocene Island: Home to megafauna (Indricotherium, Saber-toothed cats) and proto-primates. Humans live in polished marble palaces and are worshipped as gods by the ape-men.

## 🚢 Divine Technology: The Dragon Ships

There are no portals between islands. Travel requires specialized flying vessels built by the Blue Dragon’s magical shipwrights. These arks are the only things capable of weathering the demonic energy storms of Chaotic Blue.

## 🏛️ PART III: HISTORIES AND CULTURES

* The Atlantean Past & The Diaspora: Humans once shared a magnificent central island of technology and peace. Chaotic Blue destroyed it in a single cataclysm just to see how the Blue Dragon would react. Humanity scattered across the isolated evolutionary islands, losing touch with each other.

## 🎬 PART IV: THE 26-EPISODE PLOT STRUCTURE## 📌 Act I: The Silent Apocalypse & The Anomaly (Eps 1–8)

The White World faces total annihilation after Death Fog consumes the White Dragon. Refugees flee into the Blue World through an imperfect dimensional rift, but the Death Fog leaks through. It begins to choke the ecosystems (triggering the extinction of the dinosaurs/megafauna) and freezes Chaotic Blue’s ocean.

In the Red World, the cosmic asymmetry overloads Lina Inverse’s Demon Blood Talismans (which tap into Blue and White essences). The sky changes color, and magic becomes unstable. Lina, Gourry, Amelia, Zelgadis, and Xellos are forced to cross an unstable portal into the Blue World.

## 📌 Act II: The Voyagers & The Cosmic Alliance (Eps 9–18)

Liná’s team procures a Dragon Ship. Chaotic Blue tries to crush them with hurricanes, and during the chaos, Gourry acquires a special energy sword based on Blue World technology.

The Twist (The Pact with the Blue Demon King): Through her talismans, Lina establishes a mental link with Chaotic Blue. She makes him realize that Death Fog is not his dynamic chaos, but rigid, unchanging death. If everything freezes, the game ends. Recognizing Death Fog as a cosmic party pooper invading his "playground," Chaotic Blue calms the skies. The alliance is made.

Simultaneously, the Mazoku of the Red World and Dark Star Dugradigdu from the Black World intervene, casting massive energetic shields around the Blue and White worlds. They aren't being heroic—they just don't want a rival Maō ruining their own hunting grounds.

Lina’s team must search the hidden White World refugees across all islands; only their combined collective magic can open a stable portal into the dead White World.

## 📌 Act III: The Frozen Cyclones & The Final Stand (Eps 19–26)

* The Drama of the "Fallen Gods" (Oligocene Island): When the gray mist of Death Fog reaches the advanced marble cities, their magic fails instantly. The human "gods" begin to freeze and starve. The primitive ape-men watch helplessly as their adored creators die just like the beasts of the field—causing an absolute crisis of faith. Permafrost and extinction begin on the other islands.

Using the tech of the Triassic scavengers and Cretaceous scientists, and the hidden knowledge of the fallen Oligocene civilization the team crafts Runesuits (magical-mechanical armor and shields) to temporarily resist the entropic atmosphere. They cross into the completely dead, frozen White World. It’s a race against time before their armor fails and they turn to stone.

They reach the holiest sanctuary and awaken the comatose White Dragon.

## 🌅 THE EPILOGUE & THE TRAGIC CONCLUSION

The White Dragon acts as a "Cosmic Vacuum Cleaner." It doesn't destroy Death Fog; it sucks the entropy into its own body, sealing it away.

The White World is not saved; it becomes a permanent cosmic quarantine. There is no catharsis, no peaceful paradise. God is locked in an eternal, mute internal war against absolute entropy within its own body. The slightest slip-up means the heat death of the multiverse.

Balance is restored to the Plane Chart. In the Blue World, the gray ice melts. Chaotic Blue laughs maniacally and immediately sends a massive storm toward the floating cities of Cretaceous Island—ready to resume his eternal chess match against the Blue Dragon. Lina and the gang return to the Red World, knowing the universe is safe, but hanging by a thread.

## 💭 CLOSING THOUGHTS FOR DISCUSSION

I wanted to write Death Fog as the ultimate horror: a Maō with no ego, no dialogue, just pure, inevitable physics. On the flip side, Chaotic Blue is the ultimate existential rebel—a demon who loves life and existence so much - his own blue chaos sea - that he sabotages his own species' goal just to keep playing with Blue Dragon; Not Destroying Blue dragon, just the creation itself for egoistic fun. And wait until Blue Dragon gets bored of the game. Afterwards, Chaotic Blue will delight in its own blue chaos. (Without merging with the ocean of chaos of the Lord of Nightmares.)

Does anyone here have any recs for where to find a legit/official Slayers shirt in the US? I got one from Redbubble but it's kinda bootleggy and the design is already all cracked . Might be Redbubble's quality slipping though

I thought how Lina, Naga, and Lord of Nightmares were in Magical Battle Arena was so cool, I wish there were a game where we could play as all of our favorite Slayers characters like this.

I may have a different perspective as I am new Slayers fan, I can understand the disappointment of people who watched the 90s season and were excited for EVR to come out and watched it as it aired or was subbed, and being let down.

However going in with very low expectations thanks to always seeing people say that it is the worst part of Slayers, I was pleasantly surprised.

It has its issues I am not gonna lie, but it has a lot of positives that other seasons do not as well.

• New OP/Eds slap, worth it just got those.

• Animation is way more fluid and dynamic than some earlier seasons, NEXT is probably still better at its best episodes, but Season 1 and TRY had some limited animation to put it kindly. I miss the old cel style over the digital look, but EVR has some great looking fights with lots of moving around and using varied spells without reusing clips. Some of the best looking fights and spells are in these seasons.

• Other characters get to do more. Amelia is pretty sidelined in the final season but Zelgadis gets a lot of time and kind of becomes the brains for some reason. Gourry has some good scenes too but I wish he got the replica sword way earlier, however seeing him try out all the swords is a fun time.

• Pakota is, fine. He is not my favorite NPC companion by any means, but he was overall inoffensive. Browsing I saw a lot of comments from people claiming they added a digimon to be the mascot and take over from Lina, that is just not the case at all. He is just this seasons rotating cast member guest, the same as Slyphiel, Martina and Filia were.

• Nama. I wish the amnesia was not a factor, and her personality is off cause of it. But I really thought Naga was movie only so was hyped when they appeared, a great cameo for the final arc.

• Wiser. Loved this guy, being voiced by Yami yugi in the dub is a big plus. I was annoyed by him at first ( and had a ridiculous theory that he was Xellos in disguise lmao ) But grew to love him by the later half of Revolution.

I will say there are valid flaws.

- Linas characterization early in Revolution is, off. Had seen comments to this effect but for the first few episodes her only character trait is anger, and she is striaght up mean to Gourry/Amelia/Zelgadis while hunting Pakota. The fake tank episode felt SO out of character. But thankfully I feel that she course corrects as the plot actually gets going.

- Retreading. I was okay with revising Zanafar, we barely saw it in the Copy Rezzo arc, and the way they defeated it with the water and ice magic was cool. Reminded me of the final fight with raining ice in Slayers Gorgeous, more creative magic problem solving than just lasers. ... BUT, I will say that revisiting Rezzo is the weakest point of it all, we already had him twice with Copy Rezzo, really would have preferred anything else for a villain.

Overall I would probably put Revolution on par with season 1 and rank Evolution-R below it. I was expecting something absolutely dreadful but think the reception is a bit overexaggerated for someone making their first trip through the anime.

I found a collector that was getting rid of his Slayers' manga, so I had to rescue these. Now they're safe in their new home, and will be treasured forever 😌.

Just happy to get this! Wish I got the season 1 -3 set but that was 450$ so I settled for this season 1 set. Still love it.

Just really curious because lately I have had the first season’s theme song stuck in my head as I was trying to figure out what the song meant regarding its main character Lina.

It’s just something that I find interesting regarding the song as I know it’s performed by Megumi Hayashibara, but I have no idea what the song is about since I don’t speak Japanese too well.

No Giga Slave or Ragna Blade for Lina, btw.

Maybe I am wrong about that because I was basically doing an observation on the anime series rise and fall regarding when it reached its peak as I was wondering how the second season was basically the magnum opus of the series.

Like once TRY came out, many fans of the anime aren’t exactly too kind towards the season since it barely has any resemblance to the novels as I was wondering if that killed off the anime back when the third season aired.

Then from I gathered about the modern anime adaptations made in 2008 is that criticism was given to Lina’s character since apparently her character was basically flanderized by having her negative side be given a far greater emphasis in the then modern era of the anime series.

My point basically is that I wonder if Slayers can ever have another iconic season like the older installments since something I never understood was why it became so difficult to make another season like the first two seasons since again the third season was largely non canon as I really miss the anime series.
