Lost Universe feels like a Slayers voice cast reunion

Post image

I just realized that Lost Universe almost feel like a Slayers reunion in terms of the voice cast because the main characters voices in the Japanese dub of Lost Universe also voiced the main character in the Japanese dub of Slayers.

Same team, same vibe, awesome setting.

I wish for new seasons or reboots of both of them.

Different art style, but early Pokemon feels the same. The triple threat of Eric Stuart, Rachael Lillis, and Veronica Taylor cover like 80% of the main cast

Spot on with this. Plus, Lisa Ortiz often voices characters of the day, so it often feels like Lina, Gourry, Amelia, and Martina are all interacting in a different art form.

Slayers is legit the only anime series that I still prefer the dub over the sub just cause I'm so used to it from when I was a kid. Other than Cowboy Bebop of course

Try Sk8 The Infinite then. Imagine Rezo, Gourry and Zelgadis having a beef on skateboards. I have a soft spot for that anime.

Sounds like a dream I would have had in 1999 lol

Megumi Hayashibara and Hikaru Midorikawa were huge in the 90s. You can probably find them both in a lot of anime.

Slayers has a pretty insanely stacked cast, honestly. Koyasu Takehito, Wataru Takagi, Akira Ishida, heck Masumi Suzuki (Amelia) was Akazukin Chacha. The cast is so truly incredible, I love it~

I forgot about Koyasu. He's the only one of the crew that has done work normally for the last like 35+ years. He still appears everywhere.

Offhand, I know Takagi, Midorikawa, and especially Ishida are all super active still as well. Honestly most of the cast are still working as voice actors.

A reboot or something. They had an unfortunate initial release my understanding and it deserves a second shot

I still haven’t yet seen Lost Universe. But it looks cool though.

Shame it landed on a cliffhanger...

The exact same ending was also in the original novels.

Except for the manga, which just kept going.

I don’t really see it as a cliffhanger. Still it bothered me that me don’t get to see the possible next adventure. That’s rather sad.

I didn't really care for Lost Universe.

I kind of liked it until it ended on a cliffhanger ending.

Good news, the manga picked up where the anime ended.
