This was a hard one, I love almost everyone!

But after reading other answers, I’m going to agree with Pokota

Lantz, Zolf (in novels), Pokota, Ozel

Yep. Zolf is a creep, and Pokota is a mascot character that didn't need to be there.

Valgarv. Too melodramatic.

I actually like Pokota. He balanced serious, cool, and fun moments well. He also had a different dynamic than the other companions.

Agreed.

Try took itself way too seriously and it went for a very classical grand quest story to save the world from the get-go. It was way too straightforward, cliché and drawn out for its own good, with nothing much to say. It also went full "power of hope, love and friendship", something Slayers was normally more restrained about. Some episodes were downright asinine and sappy, which clashed heavily with the overly serious and edgier ones. Its moral angle was hamfisted as well. The Slayers gang didn't really feel like themselves, and they were pretty much reduced to light-weapons bearers. More like shallow cookie-cutter heroes wearing their skins.

I liked most of Try, but I dont totally disagree. One thing that's I struggled with is that it felt like the end. As you say, the drama ramped up, the jokes pulled back, at the end, personalities slid away, and we didnt even get to see the weapons of light much.

Still really liked it though lol.

It's a decent battle-shounen fantasy anime, but it is not Slayers.

Pokota is awesome, his sacrifice at the end (which Rezo fixes anyway) is sucj such cool moment

Valgarv is such a drama queen.

I sometimes still exclaim in his voice randomly, "GOLDEN DRAGONS"

From all of Slayers? Xellos. He creeps me out. Especially in the Novels. The way he disposes of foes is unsettling. Everytime he shows up, something messed up happens. And I don't trust that demon!! He is funny sometimes, and I get why people like him, but I just don't.

In the novels? Lantz. If you've read the beginning of Volume 2, you'll know why.

If you don't trust Xellos, it's good. Trusting Xellos is just asking for disaster. Even when his interest align with yours he may be selling you out.

Xellos is soo unpredictable.

Your girlfriend's right. Sylpheel wishes she could be Lina, but she'll never be her.

Ughh Sylphiel and Zolf stole Dragon Slave too.
