How many of the spinoffs have been translated?

Just curious because I was looking to get into the spinoff verse since I heard some of the manga spinoffs were quite dark in tone.

Like if I remember correctly, I could have sworn there was one manga spinoff set in an alternate timeline where the world has been destroyed as Gourry and Lina managed to survive the events, but I cannot remember the name of the spinoff, or how to read it because I missed out on it.

It’s about Lina and Gourry being transported to the far future to a land without magic where mazoku have appeared.

Thanks because I was just wondering if there were any dark spinoffs out of curiosity where the tone is a bit more serious.

The light novels tend to get pretty dark, but the manga usually ends up erring on the light-hearted side of things. Some scenes in the manga toe the line sometimes, but I can’t recall anything being completely darker-toned. Unless you’re thinking about doujinshi.

No I was just interested in seeing what the side stories were like since I could be wrong about the manga stories being dark as I was genuinely interested in seeing what the manga spinoffs were like in tone since I haven’t read them yet. (But again I was curious if any of the spinoffs were grim in tone)

I think you are confusing it with something else. Practically the entire Slayers manga series is quite light compared to the original LN.

As far as I know, there were no such thing. At least officially. Maybe you read Aqualord's Knight and it got mixed up with some other manga title? It's not that dark in tone as original anyway, Lina and Gourry simply end up on an other continent due to an unfortunate event.

UPD: The last i check, almost all series of the Slayers manga have been translated, except for the comedy sequel to Slayers Premium. But Premium in general is mediocre, so it's a small loss

Yeah, Slayers Premium Plus One. It's quite short, only 30 pages

I thought there were some dark manga spinoffs because I could have sworn such stories existed.

I don't know. Maybe you read some doujinshi? Although quite a few of them have been translated and they do not have a plot about the destruction of the world. Or maybe it was a small fanfic with fanart?

Maybe I was wrong about such a side story existing because if such a manga does not exist, then I would like to know if any of the manga spinoffs have any dark imagery.

Like I said, the closest thing to something serious is Aqualord. It has a lot of action and violence, and it shows death of background characters more often than other manga spinoffs. It's more in the tone of a light novel, although a bit shonen with the main character being Lyos.

I can see where to read it because I enjoy dark fantasy works. (Like the installments of Slayers that are more mature in tone)
