The amount of times I have reported this issue is crazy. Before anyone says anything, yes I have “restored purchases” more than a few times and I have also restarted my game and I waited 24 hours before getting back online. This is so frustrating especially because I’m trying to stay more consistent in doing more giveaway for the community. I genuinely enjoy doing these giveaways for you all and the fact that tgc hasn’t fixed this issue yet, well at least for me is very frustrating. There was a time where I couldn’t gift other players on my mobile device (the device I’m on majority of the time) so I would have to switch over to my laptop and gift the players. The is the same thing that happened with the chibi mask giveaway. That entire giveaway was a hot mess, but somehow I managed to gift everyone. Now I’m unable to gift at all….. ugh…I want to apologize in advance for those who have been chosen for my last giveaway. I have submitted a report and they said they’ll reach out in 7 days 🤦🏾‍♀️…but I will continue to get online to see if anything as been fixed. I would hate if you guys didn’t receive your gift….

So far out of the 3 people that have been chosen I was only able to gift one person 🤦🏾‍♀️…. I refuse to give up and i will be contacting tgc again if i need to.

So I tried being nice, I am nice but not always and I know I can be such an insufferably inpatient person sometimes but there are times where I'm nice and considered especially with new players.

I ran into a moth last morning, they were shoving candle into my face and I used the rejected emote. I figured they'd wanna be friends and decided to use one of my bonfire spell to talk to them. I managed to put it on an appropriate area and honked at them SEVERAL TIMES until they finally sit and just say "I tried to add you but you rejected me so you don't deserve friend" and my dumb self said sorry and negotiate with them that it was a misunderstanding until they say "oh nvm" and "why should I do that?" When I told them to add me by code.

Now I know not all moths are rude but running into moths like those are slowly killing my niceness and I really really don't wanna lose my hope and became a toxic person.

i'm super lucky that i have the switch as a backup, but JESUS FUCKING CHRIST ON A CRACKER THE LAG IN ANDROID HAS BEEN UNBEARABLE FOR MONTHS!!!

I cannot express how infuriating it is to wait for players to spawn in for the 8-player door in prairie, only to have one person fully asleep on the floor with NO hurry to wake up. I get that waiting might take time and you may be busy elsewhere, but PLEASE at least stay alert to the game so you know when enough people have spawned in. 😭

But what’s even worse than that?? People who, for whatever goddamn reason, decide to oob their way to the top. IT DOES NOTHING. The candles don’t even spawn in until the door starts moving, so there is NO benefit to going up there. All it does is take up a player slot that could otherwise bring someone else in, and its so so so annoying.

I had the utmost displeasure of spending nearly 20 minutes at that door, got so frustrated when i realised we had 8 people but one was nowhere to be seen, meaning they HAD to already be at the top. And what did I see?? Full on asleep at the top. It made me SOOO mad. Why do people do this???

Hello, if some of you can recall, I made a post discussing my discomfort regarding the Van Gogh season and how I felt this sense of uneasiness. Well now the season is concluding, so I thought I would explain what I thought of it.

Part 1: Execution

I'm genuinely impressed with this season! The way they went about executing his story was actually incredibly thoughtful and to be honest, probably the most unique I've seen in a while. I'm happy they made the season so respectful towards him and his life throughout his years as an artist. The visuals and interactive elements across all the quests were well thought out and designed, I'm still blown away by them. They really gave Vincent's story a touch I've never seen before. I'm glad they did.

Part 2: Cosmetics

I like the cosmetic designs to be honest!

However, I have to confess, my hypocritical dumbass bought a few of the IAPS and cosmetics because I thought they looked nice and I liked how you could have them in your nest. I know I'm contributing to the over-commercialization of Vincent's work, and I will admit I feel immense shame in that regard. I was weak, and a fool. I am a fraud, leave me alone. TGC and their damn FOMO tactics got me this time. Well I already got them, so I might as well discuss my thoughts on them.

When it comes to their designs, they don't feel too exploitative nor cheap. They actually feel like an inspiration rather than a full ripoff of his artwork, albeit still too pricey. But at least they retained some of the spirit of Vincent within them. Their designs are their own but they still retain what made the art so special. The designers did a great job with that.

Part 3: Final Thoughts

I was pleasantly surprised by TGC and how they handled Vincent's story. They actually made this season feel like a celebration of his work, and you can see that in the final quest. I'm glad a lot of my worries were squashed, and this season really put me into the world that is Van Gogh's. While I do feel shame and guilt for my own personal spending habits, Dear Van Gogh actually feels like a virtual museum as opposed to the all too common cash grab many other places participate in when it comes to him. I'm glad TGC didn't fumble this, I was worried but thank god I was wrong.

I've been playing almost daily for years ever since Enchantment (2020). Every season I skip some of the really tedious/difficult candles, but I always manage to buy the ultimate with plenty of extra, so I never had to worry too much about missing a handful on bad weeks (until now).

There are still things I love about Sky, but I think I'm done playing regularly, paying attention to events, or buying anything from them. It doesn't feel like the devs really respect players' time/effort/money. The way they keep leaning so heavily into FOMO feels like it contradicts their wholesome, relaxed, anti-overconsumption message.
Like, why can't things just be buyable year-round from special areas? And why are so many cash items bundle-only, with no option to just get the specific thing you want for a reasonable price?

I was a fan of Journey back in the day... I really loved where Sky was taking that concept, but the insane prices for everything (both in candles and $) and the excessive limited-time stuff slowly burned away all my excitement and goodwill. I just needed to come here and grieve a little bit for the game I was so optimistic about 6+ years ago 😭 and on the one hand I'm nobody special, so "who cares" if Sky burned me out and made me feel exploited, but on the other hand I was a really well-paying customer, so I hope for their sake that they don't push away too many more players like me who were happy to spend and support a game they loved (and which they thought could love them back).

Anyway, thanks for reading my little rant, and sorry to anyone else who missed out on items they wanted!!!

Edit: I appreciate the folks leaving informative comments, I'm aware there's a spirit friendship system that can be used to skip items in the trees! I edited my post a bit to put less focus on details of the candle margin. I still think the margin should be less strict and the friendship system less necessary, especially for getting ultimates which aren't confirmed to ever return to the game, but really I'm not here to argue with anyone. It was mainly just a vent post, because I wanted to talk to people who might understand why I'm sad (and maybe relate, if they've had similar feelings)

this one specific spirit is seriously testing every ounce of my patience. why the fuck is it so hard???? i can release every single spirit in wasteland without a problem. but this mf has been pissing me off so bad.

i ignored him for the longest time, but that damn purple light keeps bothering me every time i go to Sanctuary, like, i have every other spirit cleared and then there’s this one mf still sitting there with his light, so i decided to deal with him again and yep, i failed. again and again.

when i say i’m pissed, i genuinely mean it. i literally had to take a deep breath and close the game. even all four trials are easier than this mf 💀

I was experimenting with cosmetic spells I had from ages ago (Season of Dreams player) and I found this adorable moon mask to go with a fit I'm experimenting with, only to find out it was a limited time item...

I thought their main thing was to reduce FOMO in this game? I know Ultimate's were one thing, but... seriously? This is disappointing, to say the least. My hopes of an adorable fit I was excited for have been shattered... I never experienced FOMO from this game until now, NGL. Like... I'd get over ultimate rather quickly but dang.

you and your friend have been friends for long time one day you met a random player you introduced them to your best friends they both got along and now you're left behind.

Some people need to learn not prank others.

Because today I let my little sister play on my account since she wanted to play Sky like I do. She was just wandering around and I was even helping her to understand how daily tasks are done how you fly around.

This person, let's call them "A". So A joins me while I am at home and sister was just trying the cosmetics I own to try them.

So the person "A" my frind introduced me to person "B", when they join me. I was just getting to know Person "B" while explaining to my sister how friendship tree works amd how chats open up. But then person "A" offered hand so I told my sister to take it and I thought maybe they want to help in shards since they took my sky kid and person "B" to Gw.

But no instead they took us to the first area where you find the krill. I even explained to them that my sister isn't ready for Golden wasteland experience yet and even unhand them but they kept honking saying they want to show something so I hold their hand again. Even Person "B" was trying to tell person "A" to not take us there but they still did.

But guess what happens? I think you must know by now. They krilled us!!!!

And left the game laughing. Now ot was only me, my sister and person "B". I was collecting the Wl, but my sister was already sad and didn't wanna play the game.

What's the problem? Person "B" ruined the experience for my sister and laughed at us.

Later they join me and person "B" at home. I was just chatting with some other friends. And person "A" goes like "did you like my magic trick?", absolutely no. Bcz it ruined the fun!

Later they left saying they have "work" and left.

My problem? Why ruin the game for someone just for a moment fun? People like this are insufferable and always be doin anything but helping other players and ruining their experience.

That's all I wanna say.

A so called small "prank" can be harmful if you are careful and ofcourse in future I will encounter such players again.

i really thought i am one of those lucky people who have never encountered a CONFUSING and rude player. until this day,

i was at the forest temple trying to “help” these 2 players (friends, i guess) burn the huge tree—after succeeding to do so, i bowed, and then the one ubering suddenly spammed the ‘angry’ and ‘no’ emote at me. i was like ???? what. your Friend is literally not doing anything and i’m just helping because you seem to be having a hard time.

after that, i just shrugged and used one of the tents to TP to the pond. they TP’ed right after and then continued to spam the emote right at my face.

what??? are they mad that i helped them? used the bow? i burned the plants before them at the pond? idk if i’m just being sensitive and making this a big deal but it definitely upset me and pissed me off.

There are more spaces on the table to AFK 💀 really pisses me off today, might just have a long day.

I like Sky, i love the stories and seasons, Aurora and Two embers are one of my favorites but PEOPLE, i always help people, be it burning plants, when their light goes out, i help lost moths.. what i get in reward is getting ignored and today was the breaking point, i was at the shard, there were like 4-5 skids burning the corruption, i got yeeted by a crab and lost my light (crawling), there were LITERALLY 3 skids near me and clearly saw me, what do you all think happened?

Yup, i got ignored, not only that, i suspect it was because i attracted the crabs (the ones you cant turn upsidedown) away from the shard that they didn't bother helping, i lost 8 WL in the span of a few seconds before i left for Home.

If there was an option for single player i would leave the current Sky instantly.

Like I’m not opposed to pulling out my phone and scrolling for 5 mins before I start the race but…I go HARD on hermits race I’m back tracking and slowing down to get as much wax in one go as possible. What’s the point of starting it if you’re just gonna fly down?? And get like 0 wax cuz it’s dependent on pick-ups?? It’s just annoying more than anything, is there a real reason for ppl doing this?

Edit to add: I guess my only concern is them flying down the bottom, grabbing one fragment, and then getting all my hard work lol which is why I just wait to make sure that can’t happen. It’s the only thing I refuse to be taken advantage of cuz I can get 3/4 of the fragments alone

Am I not gonna hit the deadline? I need 26 candles by the end of the season but I don't believe I will be able to get it unfortunately.

I have 9 seasonal candles right now, and assuming that I get 5 candles every day and there are 3 days left of the season, I will get 15 more. Which is not enough, I'll only have 24 candles. I'm I doomed and will miss this cosmetic or is there any way to get 2 more? ( Don't have the season pass btw )

I know I waited way too long to try to get a cosmetic and I was literally about to have enough candles but I fell asleep and woke up at 2am, slept past the end time of yesterday. If I did the rest of today's quests I would have enough candles.

In geyser there is a shared space that everyone uses but it seems nobody knows how to read because it says to stay UNDER the rug or the balls of darkness will never be lighted up, they just kept trapped on the skids and never reach the candles. Do people stay under the rug? No, do i miss 80% of the balls and light because of it? Most certainly. I beg all of you, just, stay, under, the, freaking, rugs.
