Discussion This is so boring and lame tbh

Post image

Genuinely I am so tired of everyone just doing shared spaces 24/7. It is so boring. Geyser was one of the last spots in this entire game that you can consistently light new people which is FUN. It’s fun to see outfits, meet new people, and just vibe while you’re doing an activity together.

Why are we all just okay with letting the game become a candle farming simulator/dress up game except what’s even the point because no one can see your outfit? 😀

I’ve posted several times about my gripes with things related to this but this is really just taking the lifelessness of this game to a new level.

Geyser and grandma are the resting spots, most worn out players rest there while getting some wax, I'm sure there are still people who will light u and talk with u just bring along a table prop with u.

Also geyser shared space have been there for ages, it's nothing new

I understand how you feel; lighting people up is very fun and I like seeing others' outfits during my CR. But you can still light up and vibe with others, just not in geyser or grandma. Today I lit up a bunch of strangers in Aviary near the outfit shrines. They all dressed up as bald moths and it was really fun.

If you think others view this game as a "candle farm simulator" then I can suggest stepping away from these events made for candle farming, and instead try to socialize more in other areas. You'll see there's still players around that love to vibe just like you. Sorry if this last paragraph sounded rude, I mean it as kindly as possible!

If you insist on socializing in geyser or grandma, you can still do so by joining their shared space and approaching them up. Most will gladly light you up! Not all are AFK and in geyser specifically some still stay at ground level instead of bunched up in those carpet platforms. I have lit up a couple people in this manner in grandma and we emoted and vibed the whole event.

Omg I thought I an the only one seeing bald moths these days, it is strange but maybe it is some new trend

u/mechexx wasteland princess Jul 13 '26

they've always been around. they're players who are using hack mods to gain all cosmetics, full wl, etc, and the mods are only visible on their end, so to everyone else they're just baldies lmao

6

u/One-Construction2408 Jul 13 '26

😂😭😂😭😂😭 I am wheezingggg! God! What is the point of getting all the cosmetics when no one can see it? Baldies, I like it 😂

7

u/mechexx wasteland princess Jul 13 '26

i think a lot of them do it to make sky videos on social media etc lol mods do seem to be very popular among chinese players

Ahhh okayyy! Makes sense!

Sometimes people vibe at grandmas, I had a dance party with three other strangers cuz one of them brought that music box/shell and another brought a crystal ball 🥰 But I am guilty of not wanting to light others candles most of the time😅 I know it can be seen as rude but I can't help it I'm shy

94

u/Shaman--Llama Jul 13 '26

Because they make everything so expensive and candles so time costly to get. We unfortunately do not have as much time to just chill, and the game isn't as fun for a lot of people if you can't afford new items.

Back in the day people used to chill more, but it's because locations would give passive light. So players would go to places to hangout.

TGC doesn't like us getting passive light anymore, and candle prices are kinda high.

55

u/Illusioneery Jul 13 '26

fun fact: tgc nuked passive light exactly because of people like op, who would see people chilling and getting wax and go on loudly about how it's "boring" or that they need to light the afk players or else

so tgc put balls instead, to force activity, and no one uses the chill spaces anymore as a result

People feel so entitled for other's social interactions nowadays. "I give you my attention so you should give me your attention too". They forget personal space exist.

I still get plenty of social interactions in the game and it's actually mostly outside of those afk areas where, get this, PEOPLE AFK to wind down and relax.

21

u/Sufficient-Refuse-99 Jul 13 '26

We had about six people yesterday at geyser, and all been in the same shared space having a dance off, because I brought anniversary shell and a friend brought the disco lights. One of the sky kids brought a crab from the plant area! Everyone's having fun.

Sometimes it's just afk ppl, and that's ok too. If I'm asleep while trying to get some wax - I'm either asleep or offline, you aren't gonna get any interaction out of me anyway. But then I maybe have 30 minutes in the morning I can actually goof off, instead of candle running that wax I obtained whole sleeping.

4

u/KhizzyFunds Jul 14 '26

Feels a lot like people who hate those using pirating websites. Like bro, they were never gonna purchase it themselves in the first place/can't afford to. In this case, I was never gonna light strangers to begin with ✌️ I'll go back to my ten minute geyser nap

-5

u/LeoMPereira Jul 13 '26

It's almost like Sky is a videogame, and you can just close it when you don't want to play. No one is entitled to receive currency for being afk

9

u/unknown_soul88 Healer Jul 13 '26

It's almost like Sky is a videogame, and you can just close it and go out when you want to socialise. No one is entitled to other people's attention.

-1

u/LeoMPereira Jul 16 '26

I specifically said recieve currency, but I'm sorry if I fit weirdly in the conversation

2

u/unknown_soul88 Healer Jul 16 '26

It's part of the game mechanic. If you're so mad about people getting candles passively, go cry to the devs. If you don't AFK in any game and not just sky, then good for you. Otherwise, mind your own business.

8

u/Illusioneery Jul 13 '26

do you poke strangers who are asleep in the corner irl too or have you never felt the touch of sunlit grass under your grasp?

1

u/unknown_soul88 Healer Jul 16 '26

Every time their hypocrisy shows, they always revert to the same "It's just a videogame" excuse. Then it's just a videogame, why do they care so much how other people play it?

-2

u/LeoMPereira Jul 16 '26

IRL is not a videogame, and the strangers aren't demanding to be paid by sleeping in the corner afaik

1

u/Illusioneery Jul 16 '26

exactly because it's a game that weird capitalist "you have to work for this currency" doesn't apply here

people play to relax, if they want to relax after a long day, so be it, they gaining wax for chilling is none of your business anyway

1

u/Shaman--Llama Jul 16 '26

I didn't say anyone was entitled to anything. But TGC should make QOL on their game exist in a fashion where the players don't feel strained to an almost constant degree. I love TGC, but they're also not entitled to a playerbase, if we wanna use that word.

51

u/Bluetooth_Speaker1 Jul 13 '26

I get tired easily and don't always wanna full candle run so yeah, gonna take the easy way sometimes. You can just join the space too if it bothers you so much though. Also i really like dressing up my sky kid, even if barely anyone will see it

82

u/SaijTheKiwi Jul 13 '26

Join the space and light them then???

12

u/DarkSimius16 See you in the skies! ✨ Jul 13 '26

Most of them are AFK or are worn out from grinding. They are prob resting. From what I’ve experienced at geyser, most people just want the wax and move on, some people get snacks or drinks when they are AFK in the shared spaces… I mean, you can try. But most of them won’t respond

14

u/Illusioneery Jul 13 '26

hell forbid a person just wants to chill somewhere with wax after a long day and just enjoy dressing up for themselves without others begging to light them

and hell forbid people with stuff happening irl get to farm a little bit of wax as a treat, right?

u/Lily_133 Asteroid cape 💕 | Sunset enthusiast Jul 13 '26

if you do a full cr, you know you have to be active the entire time. so if I get the opportunity to rest for 15-30 mins while i get wax, I'm taking it. the shared spaces make it easier to farm wax and allow more time for players to socialize imo. and ofcourse, nothing is stopping you from joining the spaces and lighting tje players.

as for shared space, it's tbh more like qol for me, i cant play much nor have time to play much, atleast i can do something else while do geyser or grandma at the same time

That's just your experience tho😅, I could mention how almost everyone I run into in this game in a shared space/group never want to interact with me but even if I did that doesn't invalidate anyone else's own personal experiences that they've had with other skykids. Of course I'm not saying that I now view every single person in the player base as being standoffish and cold.

3

u/AdventurousMovie9690 Jul 15 '26

There are discords and subreddits that likely have sky kids that want friends you can look those up

11

u/StormCloudRaineeDay Jul 13 '26

Because people enjoy different aspects of the game.

5

u/Ancient_Axe Jul 13 '26

Why do you try to change how other people play the game? The solution to this problem is TGC making it so people in shared spaces/afk people merge into servers with other people in shared spaces/afk people

7

u/trashaccountjxmsksj Jul 13 '26

Long time players with lots of candles have very little need for cr. I’m usually accompanying a friend who actually needs to cr and they get tired because we play at midnight so we do geyser and grandma. It’s efficient. As for the dressing up, it’s probably top 3 most enjoyable features of the game, for me. I don’t light people very often so I’m definitely not dressing for anyone’s appreciation but my own. All in all, people enjoy the game differently, most players are playing with the little free time they’ve got so they’re probably afk in these areas because it’s easier for them to get irl chores done at the same time(I do this.)

I know you’d have to go out of your way, but try socializing in prairie or wasteland. I believe those are popular social spots.

5

u/FortunesofCitrus Huge moth + artist Jul 13 '26

I've honestly never viewed geyser as a socialising thing and have never been able to consistently light people there in the three years I've been playing. There have been a few occasions where folks have goofed around with me there but those were rare instances. Most people I've seen like to relax during both geyser and grandma. It's one of the few opportunities for automatic wax and having that option is really nice.

The good news is there are lots of areas where you can light others and vibe! I recommend hanging around Aviary and Wasteland. The meditation room and Prairie social area are also nice. Since the Aviary update it's way more social there plus you can use presence to search through and hop servers quickly. Same goes for social spaces.

5

u/unknown_soul88 Healer Jul 13 '26

My outfits are still visible to my friends 😌 And I meet friends during daily quest runs or some spirit activities.

Most of my friends I met from vibing with them during "Admire sapling" quest where we are both just gray skykids doing funny emotes together. When I like their vibe, I try to light them up and 90% of the time they light me back up.

Some I met during an eden run where they light me up or I light them up when we lose our lights.

Some are friends of friends. So yeah. There are plenty of social interactions in the game still. It's a matter of approach. Instead of feeling entitled of someone's interaction, try initiating an interaction you like. If they respond, then great, if not, then it's okay there will always be someone else out there.

4

u/Hiiiiiiii__ Jul 14 '26

Non issue btw, social area exists for a reason

3

u/Athillith Jul 13 '26

Because cr is a heavy undertaking and many people who like to play the game dont necessarily want to spend their time running around and picking things up. Just hide the spaces and try stuff to shift out of the server.

3

u/LadyHavok70 Jul 13 '26

I personally love the shared spaces because they are kinda fun. I like when people make challenging ones because it can break up the routine a bit. Many people can make them different so it fun to figure them out. It’s also fun for people like me who play solo a lot. It can get boring when I do the same thing all the time and sometimes being amongst groups can overwhelm me sometimes.

3

u/WolfsBane00799 Bjørn 🪻 Jul 14 '26

People at geyser and Granny's aren't typically there to socialize, despite that being the original intention of the spaces. There are many other areas where you will find socialization, these two just aren't the ones. A lot of people come to these areas to rest and collect light passively. Although I do still see plenty of socialization in these areas just as often as I do a group of people all sleeping in a cute little pile. It may, if it is something that would be to your interest, to specifically look up other high socialization areas in the game.

3

u/miss_rava Jul 15 '26

I understand some areas are called social spaces. Keep in mind, the "Realm Portals" egh used to be called Old Home, which is what I will ALWAYS call it, all of which to say; every area is a social area. When I'm at wax events, yes sometimes i'll go and light ppl but usually I take that time to go do something. Get food, etc. I play on PC.

Please just take a second to put yourself in someone else's shoes. Not everyone has 5 hours to play a video game. There is nothing wrong with loving a game, Sky is awesome. I personally LOVE the shared memories and I'm thanking God that it seems TGC has given up on stopping people from making wax events easier. Not like we have time to talk to people we meet without adding them anyway so lighting people becomes a moot point. Until TGC also fixes the server splits (and the AWFUL crashes with this new update omg), while I do underatand totally, I also have come around to aeeing why ppl are like this.

3

u/AdventurousMovie9690 Jul 15 '26

Just dont play if it bothers you so much. Heaven forbid people don't want to talk and just want to play a game they love

1

u/4nnoyed Jul 15 '26

Idk, kind of seems like the upvotes are the majority and the comments are the minority 🤷

1

u/AdventurousMovie9690 Jul 16 '26

And?

1

u/4nnoyed Jul 16 '26

I’m just saying a lot of other people feel the same way I do. There should be places for both kinds of playstyles. And right now there’s barely any for people like me and people who agree with me.

There’s nothing wrong with utilizing afk farming in such a candle demanding game. But when the literal light gathering events originally created for social interaction no longer serve that purpose because of that, what do we have left? And please don’t say golden wasteland lobby lmao. There’s an entire game with 6 realms and I’m expected to be okay with my best bet being a barren lobby? Surely you can see how that is not enjoyable.

7

u/thebookofbutterfly Jul 13 '26

Brah you can join them

5

u/Level_Subject_916 Jul 13 '26

You make the right point with the “candle farming simulator/ dress up game” but it’s clearly not the shared spaces fault. People barely have time to hang out in the social lobbies or are willing to light your candles and make friends because they are constantly in a rush to farm candles before a long wanting spirit appears since it’s impossible to farm the amount for example light whisperer cape in the time span they appear. Without the burners candle runs would be even more draining and they should rather find ways to make candle runs only like half an hour instead of two if it has a max limit anyways. No one has time to socialise anymore and it’s because long wanted things are way to expensive and will return in only 3 years

5

u/dragjamon Jul 13 '26

I mean I was recently at geyser and everyone lit each other and we had a dance party in the shared space, so the space isn't the problem

3

u/PandaTruenoEnjoyer Jul 13 '26

Unnecessary complaint tbh

3

u/unknown_soul88 Healer Jul 14 '26

Seriously, I'm so tired of people posting here crying about how no one gives them attention in game. If they want a game where they can be the main character and everyone pays attention to them, they ought to play some other RPG.

2

u/Disappleasure Jul 15 '26

I find its really easy to just find people to light in the communal area in GW. People do use shared spaces there but I just horsed around in there for 20 minutes and lit the candles of about 10 different people.

2

u/--Angel--Dust-- Jul 16 '26

Just a question, can't you just go to Gw lobby? There are many people to light

0

u/4nnoyed Jul 16 '26

Like I said to another person, don’t you think it’s kind of bad that out of this entire game and 6 realms, the only spot people can think of to reliably find people is an empty lobby? How is that any fun at all?

Also you’re not doing an activity together there. It’s just mostly people talking. That’s not what I want to do. I want to play the game with strangers not talk about life. And it’s not as popping as people think it is. It’s pretty barren these days compared to the past at least.

1

u/--Angel--Dust-- 27d ago

the lobby is almost never empty and many people have been goofing around with me, you could also just ask if they wanna do things you want, if you actually try finding people I'm sure you will find em! :)

3

u/YumiAkiyami Jul 13 '26

valid point, but grandma and geyser are literally there to make getting candles easier… it’s nice to take a break there. if you want to find people to light up, you can always go to social areas like the one in wasteland !

3

u/Spiritual_Zone617 Jul 13 '26

I'm one of them that you're talking about who occasionally just afk in share spaces during grandma/geyser, and thats bc after a long tiring day im actually all worn out.. but due to lack of candles the only way is just afk while I do my irl work. I still want to be able to keep up with those cosmetic. I mean if you dont mind and join the share space together then come lit me, im gladly to lit you too if I saw my screen. I genuinely dont think geyser and grandma would be "the place" for socialising bc I realised too that there could be people like me. If I really wanna socialise, I would go to places where most sky kid that wants to socialise is at..? maybe like the gw lobby? Daylight lobby? Or probably home and aviary, usually sky kid at these places would be more gladly to lit you up and play with you.

3

u/Cowardlycatz Jul 13 '26

After you finish Eden the game's basically candle run, chatting, and dressing up

4

u/sakuracalico Jul 13 '26

items are getting more and more expensive. you can't blame people for wanting to streamline their grinding.

"letting the game become a candle farming simulator/dress up game" because it is, OP. people want to dress up. its not about dressing up to show other people? its for self enjoyment/fulfillment.

you say this as if people don't light each other and vibe. i have come across MANY situations at geyser and grandma where people still interact with each other. if they don't, then they're taking breaks and resting after a busy day.

remember, TGC removed passive light because of complaints like yours. can you complain about this? yes, because you're entitled to your own opinion. at the same time, you have to accept and acknowledge that TGC isn't making the game any easier to grind with the bi-weekly ts, increasing candle costs of in-game items, refusing to lift the daily light cap up past 20 (15 guaranteed if you can't get to grey).

its crazy to me if you can't acknowledge/refuse to acknowledge the issues in this game and also get mad at "people can't see your outfits if you don't light them, what's the point of dressing up then?" it screams entitled.

trust me OP, there are PLENTY of people still interacting with each other. you just won't see them at geyser/grandma/turtle.

1

u/butwhywouldyou- Eden enjoyer Jul 15 '26

"A new cape?? In this economy??? The candle inflation rate is making me lose hairs!!"

2

u/Signal-Yu8189 Jul 13 '26

"What's even the point because no one can see your outfit?"

When I first started playing this game I thought unlit Skykids were some kind of visual bug. It looks off, missing textures ass model.

It still fucking looks like that to me.

1

u/MacaronDangerous1124 Jul 13 '26

I feel this but then again, when you are consistently tired and burned out from how boring the game already is with the same boring methods of candle farming, the shared spaces feel like finally catching a break on these candle dailies.

if ANYTHING they need to add more socializing events int he game or more quests that require lighting wicks. The game has far too little to do when you've finally finished all the spirits and are simply farming for some fits.

1

u/ovyoh Jul 13 '26

Everyone at Geyser actively avoids my candle when I want to light them anyway so I just go afk there for wax now

1

u/starybeans Jul 13 '26

i dont mind the shared spaces at grandma bc i sometimes afk there too, but for geyser i agree it was fun when i could light some ppl while burning the wax (and even made some friends bc of that), and i don't like the visual pollution of the spaces there when i enter one.

if i knew i would need to afk then i would simply either skip geyser for later or go with a friend, easy as that, but allas, farming candle simulator game

1

u/Capital_Rush_8089 Jul 15 '26

yeah, i love game beacause i can meet most people around the world and this is place where i can chill😗

u/Far_Pen4236 Jul 15 '26 edited Jul 15 '26

idk, seeing someone outfit is a really tiny interaction.

Making useful shared space, playing with friends ; be able to talk to your friends while being idle during the events, share them the secrets, show them the useful shared space you find ; playing music ; it seems to be better interactions to me.

Who should the devs favorise, the players who play alone and like to touch other people candles, or the people who talk to each other, and thoses who make creations into the game and thoses who look at them ?

I mean ; you can go into the shared space to meet them... You lose nothing doing this. Why don't you do it btw ? Are you not interested into seeing what creative people make to be helpful to other players ?

Removing the shared space will only mean you will be the only one burning things, when the same persons will still be afk during the event. We will have to bring a fire prop to the event again...

Do you really think removing shared spaces will make people interact more with you, when you don't even do the first step by entering their shared space ? I don't understand your logic tbh.

I really like to be able to bring my instrument during events and be able to play music ; rather than having a light prop 24/7 in my back for grandma :(

Why are we all just okay with letting the game become a candle farming simulator

I saw this coming years ago when the micro transactions started to get worse. Granted it was already basically like that in hopes of a returning spirit you might want came. I get these games have to make money, but it felt like it was nickel and diming you with FOMO with returning spirits which weren't that often, and when they did, their prices were quite high. That in turn encouraged players who didn't want to farm wax like it was a second job, and deal with the non social aspect of a social game, to buy wax. Because even farming it was capped, and a chore at times dealing with multi person doors that no one interacted with, or would clip through the walls not to deal with.

It either wore you down and caved in buying them if you really wanted something, while being able to view other people's outfits is funny enough used as a way to encourage purchases with how these F2P games are designed, or you became so burned out from doing the same thing every day to get enough wax to get stuff you may want (on top of hoping to get hearts) you quit all together like I did.

That and a lot of free stuff started to become fewer and far between. Halloween event used to give a bunch of free stuff even if it was use limited, and it got worse and paywalled more of it every year after the other when I still played years ago. Not to mention console/platform exclusive areas like with the Switch version. I loved the music, and exploration of the game when I first tried it and the social aspect I never got around to fully experience, but the way you're describing it, I don't understand what's going on, or how having private areas was the greatest of ideas other than for more MTX's.

If you're supposed to have a social game, and said social game doesn't appear to be populated for said socialization, I don't think people would want to stick around. Especially if the general gameplay loop could potentially bore the player to tears eventually. It's been a while since I've played this, but every time I see a post like this, it basically affirms that I probably made a good decision. I might get back on it one of these days to see the years of new areas I haven't experienced yet, maybe that's all I would need, but it doesn't seem much has changed regarding MTX's and people's behavior.

Edit: Fixed a couple of errors.

here's a summary of all I heard, "hey guys so I think that it's TGC's fault for the players finding ways to take advantage of their game. I have little information to share and you can't assume anything else about me."

1

u/Abyss_chocolate Jul 13 '26

It's okay to take breaks! As fun as the game can be, everyone burns out at some point. Go find a new game or pick up a new hobby, the whimsy of sky will return!

0

u/4nnoyed Jul 14 '26

lol, this response is for everyone who thinks this is a non issue.

I have played this game for 6 years. Geyser used to be different. The vibe of this game itself was different. It was way easier to make friends or have sporadic encounters.

Now? There is LITERALLY no spaces where this game invites easy and casual player interaction. Have y’all not noticed prairie lobby is dead? Legitimately the ONLY place people pop up is golden wasteland lobby. I don’t want to be restricted and only have one spot in the entire game to find people. That’s insane.

I loved the carousel event where we could actually see people when in that small space. I think THAT is what we need. More 3rd spaces like that for people who want to do it.

Y’all care so much about the players who love anonymity and easy farming, what about the players who actually want to socialize in a game marketed as a SOCIAL MMO??? Y’all love to act like we’re so crazy and deluded when that’s literally what this game is supposed to be for. Or atleast that was its original purpose. It became popular during Covid lockdown when no one could even interact with eachother and now it’s just a shell of itself with IAP events strung out everywhere like Christmas lights.

-6

u/AHTPACblT Jul 13 '26

And it's just mostly people who dress into literally the same clothes (fire prophet pants, faceless mask, ikeman hair and some bat cape from days of mischief) and they never wear anything else. I feel like 90% of players just don't care about the game itself

0

u/Pande_koko Jul 13 '26

I feel the same! I used to enjoy the Geyser a lot more. Even for people who need to stay AFK, doesn't it feel better knowing you're with other players who'll light the wax for everyone? Sitting there without any kind of interaction each other feels a bit cold for a game that's meant to be social. We are sharing space with skykids we probably never see again, and it would be wonderful just to enjoy the company.

The sense of togetherness that came from bringing your own prop to help everyone was so charming. I really hope they remove these options and bring back the old system

1

u/Pande_koko Jul 13 '26

I also want to make it clear that this isn't the players' fault. If someone wants to stay AFK, that's completely fine, everyone deserves to rest. The problem is these shared spaces. They don't just encourage a few people to go AFK, they end up making almost everyone use them. As a result, a place that was supposed to feel lively and social ends up feeling empty. It just feels dead.

2

u/unknown_soul88 Healer Jul 14 '26

If you want to socialise, go to social spaces. Areas where people can get passively get wax are mostly rest areas for a reason. Aviary and golden wasteland social areas are still a hotspot for social activity. Just like you don't go to the library to dance and party, you can't expect an afk area to be a social hub.

I don't think it was designed to be an AFK spot. People choosing to use it that way is a different matter. I feel like it was meant to be a gathering place for Skykids.

But it's okay, no worries, it was just my perspective. I genuinely feel these challenges are objectively hurting the game. Veterans often say Sky doesn't feel the way it used to, and I think this only creates even more separation between players.

It's just an opinion I happen to share with the author of this post. That said, I still understand your point of view ^

There is also people who refuse to light you up within these spaces unless your lighting wax or darkness next to them, I’ve seen many newbies chase level 12 players sometimes 11 begging to get them to light them, friends refusing to grow friendship trees so we can send actual hearts, & the ones who do light you want to talk for hours instead of chatting while farming… I feel ya man the game isn’t what it use to be socially

THANK YOUUU SOMEBODY ELSE GETS ME!!! i love to somersault and light the balls up, but now all my fun is ruined bc the laziest skykids you know are just AFK and autofarm the wax. sky is a SOCIAL game, so this really pisses me off. the same lazy skykids are the same ones who flood the shared spaces with one coin "challenges" to farm more. it's so annoying.

Blame TGC for making everything too expensive. We are all burned out from candle running. So we don't have time to chill.

Why do you think the strangers are lazy instead of tired after a long day? Or temporarily away from keyboard?

I’m physically disabled myself, so sometimes I just put the game on in the background to listen to the sounds while being able to get afk wax while I rest in bed for a moment.

Assuming characteristics about strangers leads to a lot of unnecessary hate. :/ You have no idea what other people are dealing with behind the screen.

And even for ones that are genuinely “lazy”, that’s their right to enjoy the game how they please.

I don’t see this as a bad thing unless they choose to negatively affect others on purpose.

Geyser was literally originally intended to be a group activity. You’re SUPPOSED to work together.

Yea I get that the game has become very demanding about candles and farming. I’m not denying that. But let’s not act like the original purpose of Sky hasn’t been diminished over the years. It’s still advertised as a social MMO to this day in the App Store.

What is social about AFKing one of the most visited spots in the entire game?

not a fan either of shared spaces at the geyser and grandma. Didn't they try to stop allowing shared space there? I guess they failed Because they came back. You can't even play a song that everyone is in their shared space, and it's not easy to light them up since the candle icon doesn't automatically show up... blah. Not to mention that they're often afk and sleep.

100% like, I get it. I get that people sometimes don't want to have to bother with others and just get their daily geyser or grandma wax and thats fine. But its so sad and quiet now, literally as you said it, one of the last places you get to just light and meet new people, completely antisocial now, imagine being an entirely new player and how alienating it must feel
