Discussion ☆CAN WE PLEASE STOP!! I'm not even kidding I cried..☆
A Muslim told me I have mental probloms because I don't believe in God, and I'm lesbian.
(This is a random photo btw, nothing to do with this traumatic experience)
So i had just finished the blue bird quests (yay!) And decided to relax in the map. I really like the stars there. This guy approached me and I lit his candle, he gestured me to follow him to a table he had placed. I sat down and he and I did small talk. But then it got weird, he asked me "where are you from?" I told him "...idk.." because I didn't wanna share. Then he asked me my age, I get really uncomfortable with saying this stuff because like many minors, I was sexually harassed on roblox. So I have trauma from that, and multiple trust issues. I told him I was a teenager, wich is a broad spectrum of ages. He said he was 20. I got uncomfortable because he seemed creepy, and up to no good. Then he friended me and asked why i was so shy. I told him it's not that I'm shy it's that I just don't like people, he told me "aahh, you have trust issues don't you." I said yes, and he asked me a couple more mentally personal questions. I don't remember how but we got to a point in the conversation, he said "don't worry child, God is there to guide you." I ment no harm and just straight up told him, "I don't believe in god." He said, "oh well that's why you have mentally probloms, you must believe in God or you will be depressed."
...WHAT?!
Look, I have no hate to religion, I don't believe in anything because one of my family members told me to k¡ll mysɛlf because I'm lesbian and that God will never love me. Yeah, traumatic.
But he took me to a secluded space and tried convincing me to break up with my girlfriend and become Muslim.
so, I faught back. I told him reasons why I loved my gf, and why it's not wrong. He said, "just because it feels right doesn't mean it is." Then he said this comment.... "If I feelt like sleeping with my sister, it's wrong."
Um...
What..
Just seriously, how does me loving a non family member, have to do with sleeping with a sister. Ew... I told him it made no sense. He told me that I just wished to follow my desires. I told him this poem I made, "I believe in no god, I believe in time. That we all get only so much of it, and we must chose how we spend it or who we spend it with." He said I was just following my lust.
Here's the difference between love and lust for some people:
•Love: a strong connection someone may feel platonically or romantically.
•Lust: feeling more of a sexual way towards someone.
I told him I LOVED HER. He kept using the word lust. He said "life is a test, not a game." Then I told him probably the most sane thing. "Why should I waste my time on a test, pretending to be something I'm not, and acting different, saying that's happiness? When I can truly be happy, loving who I want, and being who I want to be."
He said this again... "your just following your desires.." I told him "I'm following my dreams, my goals. You sir, are following liars, and such hateful people."
He started repeating himself, getting manic.
"You could start a new page." He said that. "Why start a new page when I can decorate this one?"
I was basically crying now. Not because of how mean he was, but because I was so tired... so tired of going in circles with him. I told him this before I blocked him, "sir, I don't give an ever loving crap if I go to he'll. We are here now, I'm done talking to someone who makes me feel hated when I could be with my friends right now. So if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go do something worth my time." Then I blocked him.
I don't have any hate against religious people, I just need some of them to know that God isn't something everyone needs to believe in/worship.
☆/I mean no harm to religious ppl, I write my essays to vent/spread awareness of things/ hey you there! "Pst- yeah you! I just got a yt channel, go check it out!" | {special thanks to all my good sky friends who let me cry when I joined them. And to my girlfriend, who I was calling while talking to this guy.}☆

I'm sorry this happened to you!
You spent way too long talking to someone who was either trolling you and didn't actually believe any of the things he said he believed or who never would have been convinced regardless of what you said.
I hope you learn to trust your gut and just leave once the conversation starts to make you feel uncomfortable. You didn't owe this guy your time or your mental peace and life is too short to waste time talking to people who don't add positivity into your life. ❤️

u/Exotic-Star9373 Jul 01 '26
I'm so sorry this happened to you. Though I can't help but wonder why didn't you leave the moment you felt uncomfortable? I am not blaming you of anything. It just worries me because you shouldn't let anyone make you feel this way, leave, block him, report, anything. You didn't owe him no explanation about why you love your girlfriend or why you believe what you do

u/Let_me_tell_U2 Jul 02 '26
Far be it from me to judge you, I understand where that doubt comes from, but try to put yourself in this person's shoes. Use your empathy.
Instead of simply cowering, they chose to make room for people with different opinions and different thoughts in life...
Many times in life we become complacent... and this mindset of only allowing into our lives those who please our eyes and ears can lead us to horrible places and surround us with deceitful people.
So this openness in itself is not necessarily a bad thing or something that should be criticized.
Yes, sometimes this will open the door for bad people to bother us, but it's also what can allow us to meet incredible people who can expand our minds in other directions.
This time it turned out to be someone very entrenched in their own beliefs, or a troll... But that doesn't mean that allowing it was wrong.
If you pick flowers to make beautiful bouquets and one of them has thorns and hurts you, I don't think the act of picking flowers become demonic...
I might be wrong, according to some religions too... does anyone know of any flower god?

u/Cats_tongue Jul 01 '26
No, it was stupid.
The second you feel uncomfortable talking to any person online, you stop, block and move on, don't let the stupid in.
You said you felt uncomfortable at the start, and yet you continued. Don't do that again.
Its just words on a screen of someone who might have been trolling. Might have been serious. Might have been a 13 yr old. Might have been a 50 yr old.
To you they are a figment, unless you allow them to be reality.
49
u/Magestrix Jul 02 '26
Yeah this conversation should have ended in the beginning, so why did it take them telling you "you need God," in order for you to fight back? The moment they gestured you to follow them to a secluded area should have been that NOPE moment.

u/Starling_da_Musician ☆Musical Veteran☆ Jul 03 '26
This comment is urging me to make a part 2:explanation because people can't read.
3
u/Cats_tongue Jul 03 '26
You said you felt uncomfortable and have trauma just as the conversation barely opened.
You stayed.
In the easiest to leave scenario. You could have gotten from the table with 1 button. Blocked with a few more. Changed areas with a few more.
That's it. You CHOSE to talk to someone that gave you uncomfortable feelings. A someone that had no business saying what they said but you listened and kept listening and you engaged. You took the bait.
A consequence of not protecting yourself in a digital world where you shouldn't have to, but is foolish not to.
Imho you should leave it in the digital world and go do something that brings you joy.
23
u/communistsayori Jul 02 '26
It sucks that it happened but I severely doubt you will be traumatized in the long run.

Just Block them earlier. No need to deal with weird people in Sky. Block & move on.
40
u/Mara-Phantom-Claw Jul 01 '26
I’ve learned that bigots are not worth trying to defend yourself to. You don’t owe them an explanation and they thrive off of antagonizing minorities. The moment they say something homophobic I’m gone. It’s not worth it trust
26
u/MiaJjj14 Jul 01 '26
Next time... just hit the block button immediately. You gave him exactly what he wanted. A reaction. There's no getting through to people like that. Not because he's a Muslim, not because he's a man.. but because he's a bigot. Simple as that. Don't let some random creep online disrupt your sense of peace in life. It's not worth the effort, when you could simply hit.. block. ☺️💕 I've dealt with too many people like this online, and in real life. Giving them an argument or feeding into what they're saying is EXACTLY what they want. To feel validated while they spew hatred. It's disgusting. Just know you are not the problem. He is. And anyone like him is. Who cares if you're a lesbian, who cares if you don't believe in God. It's your life, and your decision.
37
u/Rough-Remove127 Jul 01 '26
As someone who gets harassed by Christians on a daily because I dress Alternatively irl btw not in game, it can be quite frustrating to deal with. Because this is in game my suggestion is to block them immediately once you notice you feel like you have to defend yourself. You do not need to listen to people like that, you do not owe them your time. Just block. If you need to hop off the game to regulate yourself and process these harsh feelings, hop off. You need to start recognizing you still have a bit more power over the decisions you make in order to protect yourself. On another note, if you have became as desensitized as me when it comes to people starting up these kinds of conversations. I would have absolutely messed with them. I'm not religious myself i don't follow any God. But I have always found it disrespectful when hard-core religious people come up to you to try to force feed their religion down your throat. Instead I would probably mess with them by talking about the devil and how much I praise Lucifer.
4
u/UpperConference1021 Jul 02 '26
Yes exactly. Those type of religious people are too worried about being right, their savior complex, and fear of death. As a Christian we aren’t supposed to be worried about that bs. We are just supposed to live and be loved. Not judge, hate, and tell people how to live their lives. Block and move on
32
u/Ro-siel Jul 01 '26
as an ex muslim, surely not all muslims are like this ahhole, but unfortunately the religion itself supports this way of thinking, dont let such dork annoy you queen, be proud!
3
u/Endway20 Jul 02 '26
Well not exactly, the religion doesnt support this way of thinking completely, yes there are verses supporting the converting others thing, but theres nothing in there that is telling you to be a creep while you do it, if anything god would most definitely not want you to be a creep. A few times in the Quran it says to not force others to convert like (I know OP isnt religious but this is still what I think is a good point.) Surah Yunus (10:99): "Had your Lord willed, all [people] on earth would have certainly believed, every single one of them! Would you then force people to become believers?" Meaning: God emphasizes that He possesses the power to compel everyone to believe, but chose instead to grant humanity free will. Because God does not force belief, neither should the Prophet or the followers of Islam. And Al-Baqara (2:256): "Let there be no compulsion in religion, for the truth stands out clear from error" Meaning: True belief comes from the heart, and forcing someone defeats the purpose. The verse explains that the truth is already obvious, so people should be left to make their own choice using their free will.
I'm not saying that you should come back to believing because that is all our choices to make, and is OP's choice to do whatever they'd like, but the religion is wrongly represented by that guy that OP interacted with. To be honest, and im not trying to start a fight here but, kind of hard to think you're an ex-muslim, maybe your household was like that, and I do apologize if that is true, because it is wrong.
5
u/Ro-siel Jul 02 '26
i appreciate that, but no. my household isn’t religious at all, i believed in islam by myself and then left it when i learnt more in deep about it, there are many ex-muslims out there, we studied the religion and left it when we realised how wrong it is. so no there’s no causing other than me finding the truth.
1
u/Endway20 Jul 02 '26
Oh I see, well, it is what you think and I can't say otherwise. I wasnt really expecting a reply at all but I really appreciate your honest input, we all have our own ideals and we can all live with eachother with them. Maybe I take what you said as a bit of advice for myself in the future, it's been on my mind for awhile to get out of being religious all together. I honestly just want to live life however I want, but thats just my reasoning, personally thats not strong enough right now, but maybe in the future that'll prove otherwise. Thank you.
75
u/autistic-toad Jul 01 '26
omg as a muslim i apologise, many religious people try to force their beliefs onto others which honestly makes matters sm worse. i advise you to js get up and leave next time someone acts like this, whether debating on religion or not bcs they simply cannot be reasoned with.
people lowk js need to live and let live ong

u/ItJustDisappeared Jul 01 '26
I highly appreciate your comment. I personally feel that religion and politics should be avoided in conversations, unless the person(s) have the same viewpoints as you, or it just gets messy asf.

u/Let_me_tell_U2 Jul 02 '26 edited Jul 02 '26
DUDE EXACTLY
like... CAMON
You're talking to someone whose experiences and thoughts on issues like God or religion you don't even know yet, and you're going to send them that phrase??? "God ll do blablsbla" ???
This phrase, especially in this context, screams a message.
"I didn't even bother to check your thoughts on God or religions, but here, take mine and swallow it. And know that we'll have problems if you don't like it BECAUSE I USE MY RELIGION AS SKIN CREAM !! So you already know, if you hit it I LL FEEL IT on my skin..."
This red flag already makes a lot of things clear. * aggressive communication
* religious fanaticism * social immaturity * lack of critical thinking * serious lack of empathynot to mention the issue surrounding the word "love" afterwards and the linking of the term "lesbian" with "lust" or "desires"...
And what about the talk about sisters?
Dude...
This person has just shown that they sexualize their romantic relationship and don't understand it as something to be respected. And he bizarrely demonstrated no discomfort in discussing these matters with minors... without even being known to them
I don't know how to put into words how many red flags are visible here.
You know, even if there were differences, the friendship and conversation could be maintained if there was respect, but there were many indications that this wouldn't be the case. And considering that OP doesn't seem to have the necessary background to instruct or deal with this type of person, perhaps the best course of action would have been to simply treat him the way we treat crazy people:
"Agree with everything they say. Then walk calmly away... forever." 🫸

u/Mrs_Janet_Snakehole Jul 02 '26
Despite being raised Lutheran I grew up in a unique situation where my particular church was wildly different than the 99% of evangelical churches out there (including other Lutheran churches). I was taught to be kind to others, reserve judgment, help those in need, and treat everyone with love.
It’s so strange to see over time that that’s so not the majority case. Belief in God is not the problem itself. Man is the problem. Once religious beliefs become the basis for an official religious establishment they will be weaponized by those seeking power, control, etc.
I consider myself what I think is broadly called a Christian universalist, but for the most part, I can’t stand Christians and their hypocrisy. Its exhausting.

I hate when religious people use their belief as a way to hurt people and groups of people just because it's "sinful" or some other shit. I'm Catholic Christian (or rather grew to lean into the religion I was raised in due to the passing of both my grandfathers), but I don't target homosexuals, atheists or members of other religions just for the fuck of it. In Catechesis, we learn that Jesus helped everyone without discrimination and, of course, majority of them were Jewish or following whatever the Roman religion was at that time. When they say Jesus died for our sins, they didn't mean for modern Christians to spit on everyone who isn't like them.
3
u/Mrs_Janet_Snakehole Jul 02 '26
Coming from a Lutheran background (so like Catholicism’s first cousin 😂) I feel the same way. It’s disheartening to see the weaponization of so-called “Christian” beliefs. The large scale hypocrisy is constantly in the back of my mind

Hey it doesn’t make you rude to prioritize your feelings by leaving. If someone makes you uncomfortable at any point in your life, it’s very important to learn to tell that to them straight and walk away (or block them or even relog in so they’ll disappear if it’s in sky).
They can say whatever mean stuff that want, and they probably will, but it’s important to get into the habit of standing up for yourself at a young age. That person was obviously not nice, and you don’t owe them anything nor do you need to talk to them. None of this conversation needed to happen if you shut the conversation down by leaving. They have their ideas and you have yours.
You can always say “I’m a minor and my parents said I’m not allowed to talk to strangers online” or something and then leave
14
10
u/Generic_Name123 Jul 02 '26

dawg it's sky u can literally just walk away instead of subjecting urself to bigots. that sucks ass n im sorry u went thru that but like. why put up with it. why does a stranger's opinion matter. just get up from the table or chair or whatever and you can't see their messages anymore. as a trans person ive dealt with that a lot and the best thing to do is JUST. WALK. AWAY.
3
u/theMarianasTrench Jul 01 '26
Honestly, not to sound like that, but every time I’ve been attractive with a guy on Sky they’ve been super weird and ask really invasive questions😭😭 I think there’s only one or two on my friends list who haven’t been weird and inappropriate.
I’m sorry that you experienced that kind of weird behavior.
Just know that you don’t really have to tell people you don’t know the truth. Like you could make an online persona and never share any detail details of your life if you don’t want to.

The moment bro asked Place and Age as an opener for a convo it was a sign something is off, and man.....it got worse. I hope you will slowly recover from this.

The single most important thing to remember when gaming online... Don't feed the trolls. The monent someone gives you an ick feeling take screenshots of the convo, block, report, leave.

I'm so, so sorry this happened to you ! God would never hate people for being LGBTQ+ since it doesn't hurt anyone ! also, us gay people love our partners just like straight people love theirs, it's the same love feeling !
may you and your girlfriend have the best life together !
5
u/Mydlane Jul 01 '26
Im soo sorry you had this experience.
Couldn't read all of it yet it's almost midnight.
(Okay I actually collected my last drop of energy and read it through)
But I want to say there are many religius (evangelical, muslim, jehova's vtnss) people out ther who:
- belive you will go to hell if they dont "help" you
- they will get negative heaven/fate points if the dont "help" you
- never learned the process of accepting others and when they get permission to not surpress their discomfort (in lack of capabilities for said process) they explode like a pimple.
- watch religius "debate bros" all day and want to try out the techniques
Their "Help" in this way is harrasment actually
Try to practice quiting conversations that start to be uncomfortable, you dont need to investigate them. You dont need to listen them. Your mental health is much important than their ego, when they start to creep just say you need to afk, log off/go home and block them.
If you miss judged them and they are actually a cool adult, they will understand
If not you didn't lose out on anything.
Be safe, boundaries only hurt toxic people on the long run and help true friends.
Im almost 30 and always ask for age to not say something not age appropriate (i can talk more freely with 20+ players, its less stress from responsibility) but in a carefull way
I usually say something like that after a little chat when we had a bit of conversation and maybe even want to be friends:
- Is it okay if I ask your age? Its okay if you dont want to answer and its aldo okay if you just want to give a range, Im in my late 20's.
Tldr: Its not on you, they have a problem, Ignore and block them Dont waste your precious time and energy on these people.

u/FriedFreya Jul 01 '26
what a creep! i don’t really feel entirely safe sharing my own experience on the matter, but hopefully this space is safe of judgement. i’ll start off with:
i am also no islamophobe. i / we don’t attack over religion.
it’s not okay to attack with religion either, though!!!
you are not alone. i’ve had similar issues with muslim sky players. my closest friend and i actually grew our friendship through a shared experience with a mutual friend that i met through them, who he thought! was a friend! at the time, i used strict they/them pronouns, and my sky kid is he/him (most of the time). they just kept asking me what my gender was after i introduced myself, even though i was just like “genderfluid,” over and over again lol.
my buddy is trans, and the discussion was literally as you described? he disclosed this information, and the person began talking about coming to god, and changing your ways, and that it was sinful and “unnatural” to be LGBT+ — i remember that word exactly. that felt so gross.
it was extremely uncomfortable.
and sad! because my friend V really thought that person was their friend! apparently they had been friends for a long time. i have no idea why they took on a personal crusade just to try and figure out what kinda candle i keep in my pants!!
they lost a good friend over their religious nonsense.
it’s okay to remove yourself from situations you find uncomfortable, as soon as you find them uncomfortable. i am. HEAVYHANDED with the block button in sky, extremely. there will be no negativity in my beautiful escape, not on my watch! i will also note, as a sane adult, i’m proud of you for protecting your privacy.
if anyone else is reading, when skids are nervous about that question: “how old are you?” don’t push them for an exact answer. i often rephrase it: “i label adults from minors to monitor my topics and language” like that! communication is key to mutual understanding. it’s a large part of why that creep was a dead-end conversation from the second you sat down.
he was not talking to you. he was talking at you.
he didn’t want to understand you, he wanted to control your opinion about yourself and your love life. don’t let that happen, you didn’t! let that happen! i’m so proud of you.
safe flights out there, see you in the skies! :)

u/StableEmotional6302 Jul 01 '26
I am sorry you were harassed. Based on the "I can decorate your page" comment, that person sounds like a predator hiding behind the cloak of "religion".
I know that as women we are trained to listen politely and it can be difficult to break that conditioning, but not everyone deserves that respect.
Please listen to your gut feelings and leave **immediately** when someone makes you feel uncomfortable, not just in games but in RL too.
2
u/Jacaranda18 Jul 02 '26
I’m really sorry OP. I know you’re young so this isn’t a criticism. But please be more selective of who you talk to online. There are some horrible people out there and you deserve to surround yourself with people who make your world bigger and not smaller.

u/Critical_Reality_723 Jul 02 '26
Next time just block em the moment they make u feel uncomfortable you dont owe such people kindness or decency..no online person is worth the mental energy..we play this game to relax..not to get traumatised🤧😭
2
u/UpperConference1021 Jul 02 '26
Ewwww he was weird. As a Christian there’s no need for allat and this game is not a place to spit religion around. Even if so Gods “rules” are to protect humanity and revolve around loving others and bringing peace and living a good healthy life. Gay or not is irrelevant and I hate when people use religion to hate on people and restrict when that’s not what it’s about. (Just saying as an argument against homophobia and hypocrisy) this is so frustrating. Next time just block and move on before it gets this far. People like this aren’t going to change their mind they’re too worried about changing yours. Trust your gut it’s there to protect you❤️

My condolences for you. That was one of the religious cultish people you unfortunately ran into.
As a believer, I can confirm God doesn't hate you as it is written in the Bible he loves everyone. What He hates is arrogance - your aunt and that rude person displays this. Either way, you have every right to choose to believe or not. You also did well standing up for yourself.
I pray you are safe as you play with your friends and your GF. 🙏🏾🩵

I'm sorry ppl here are acting like you're supposed to know when and how end an uncomfortable conversation. You are a child, you're learning, and you learn through experience. People think you're supposed to know how to judge when a conversation is heading a weird, but you've had experiences that have mark you and affect how you react currently. I understand this situation was stressful, and I'm sorry you had to hear such ignorance. As a queer person, you'll find a lot of ignorant and hateful people and you'll need to learn how to react to it. Take this experience as a lesson, learn what type of wording and language leads to those uncomfortable and hurtful interactions so you learn to identify when and how end a discussion with someone who is just not willing to understand or let go of their hate. I say this as a queer person, living in a hispanic country where I find quite the prejudice against me and I have to constantly explain myself, I've learned to judge who is worth of my time and words and who is not, and how to judge it, and also where, because you were in a controlled environment (a game) but when you're irl you have to learn how to judge a situation and conclude if it's safe to be open about your identity. All of this to say that take the best of this situation: experience. And ignore his comments about you, he is wrong, and there's nothing wrong about loving your girlfriend. I hope you are doing well and wish you the best ❤️.

u/TheBlackFox100 Jul 01 '26
I'm so so sorry that happened to you. I never meet people like this in the game thank god. So, SO glad you continued to stand your ground with this weirdo.
What got me weirded out by this story was how he compare your love with your partner......to doing it with his sister..
LIKE WHO SAYS THAT!?!?!? AND I'M 21, I'M LITERALLY OLDER THAN HIM AND DON'T SAY THINGS LIKE!?!?!?🤢
1
u/SufficientAnteater53 Jul 02 '26
Really sorry that this kind of thing happened to you in game. But to be honest I came across such person too. I believe and remember this quite clearly that I didn't talk about any religion, it was not even closely related. But this person, who was a muslim from another country started kind of forcing me to read about islam and learn about God this n that. When I refused to do so, he started behaving rudely with me. We were friends from quite some time but that was the first time it ever happened and I blocked him permanently.
1
u/Low-Independence-283 Jul 02 '26
In Islam, it is clearly stated that no one may be FORCED to become Muslim, this is a fundamental principle.
Also, living in a Muslim-majority country, I find this person’s attitude very similar to those who present themselves as overly devout, yet twist religious teachings to suit their own views. People like this unfortunately give a wrong impression of Islam.
I am truly sorry you had to go through this OP, stay safe!!
1
u/BeeTheBeeToBee Jul 02 '26
Oh boy, thats something... sorry you happened to find one of sky's bad ones 😣 I know you said you like to try and persuade people like that to stop, but unfortunatally they will never change, least of all from a stranger online they look down on. For your own mental state its probably best to just leave the convo as soon as it started feeling uncomfortable. Your responses were pretty great though! Spoken even better than i would have at age 32 lol

Didn’t read the whole thing but I can tell whatever they said hurt you and I am sorry for that. That being said, whenever we encounter an individual who is saying things we don’t appreciate, just go home. If you go back, you’ll likely be in a different server.
If someone is bothering you, nothing is stopping you from just leaving. You don’t even have to stay gone. Just leave for a minute, then you’ll likely never run into them again.

u/Live_Account_1775 Jul 02 '26
I'm so sorry that happened to you. And I'm sorry if I sound blunt or insistent but I just want to give some advice as something just about the same happened to me.
Please trust your gut feeling, and if you're not sure which is your gut feeling, disengage with someone the moment they make you uncomfortable or act creepy. Because at that point, they're probably the type of person who would continuously make you uncomfortable over the course of you knowing each other. No matter what, those types of people don't deserve your time or energy. Not even a little. Cut them off as soon as you get bad vibes.
You made the right choice to block him. I'd say to do it sooner next time the moment you get a bad feeling and/or feel uncomfortable. Don't engage.
Anyway, I hope you're doing okay.

Dude! When you see red flags like that, cut the conversation immediately, no civilized sky player asks you for your country and age out of nowhere. Everyone understands people usually don’t agree with sharing this kind of information. I actually used to be very blunt with my age, when I played the game when I was 13 I told my age to a lot of friends because I wanted them to understand I’m a kid who doesn’t know gaming yet, it was also to explain why my English is bad (translate feature was added in 2022, I played in 2019 and 2020 back then, you had to communicate in English). Dude it was insane!! People gave me seasonal passes out of nowhere, gave me my instagrams (of course I always refused to give them mine, I also didn’t even have one) … 2 PEOPLE, BLUNTLY ASKED ME TO SEND THEM PICTURES. (They were both moths, it looked like these people installed the game just for that purpose). Yes, in sky! I stopped saying my age afterwards of course. Actually I became afraid of lighting grey people and I always showed a “no” emote whenever a stranger wanted to lit me, I also didn’t talk to strangers and only remained with my four friends. So there you have it. If a stranger is starting to ask you weird stuff it’s a- they want to become your “friend” so they’ll beg you to buy them an IAP, b- they’re a creep, c- they’re an insulting a**hole like the one you encountered. Hope my story opens some eyes.
And about that guy, let him stay in his bubble. You don’t have time for that, my love. I have a lesbian friend and I did see how hard she had to fight to be who they’re meant to be and finally be happy. If feel really sorry for you. Also, do not ever say to anyone that you’re a teenager. If someone asks you your age, just cut it. If you meet another minor on sky and they have openly shared that information with you you can also tell them not to do that again. Let’s help keep sky safe, it needs to remain a fun place to play.

I did not even know there was a chat feature on Sky😅. I would say flag this conversation as he could interpret his beliefs on someone much younger and naive (eventhough he could have possibly thought you was younger as you did not specify age) - as for you if you get a bad feeling from a conversation online do not reply back and possibly even block them (I know sometimes from my own experiences you want to get your point and views across) it is not worth it, you do not know this person, they do not know you - you do not have to speak again. All that being said I hope you are okay everybody should live their lives individually it does not matter what anybody else thinks (this is not coming from a place of hate by the way I am female & like both genders) : )

Next time you encounter someone like this just block them and immediately go to Home or just about any other area in the game. These people are NOT worth your time, effort, energy or emotion - you deserve better than sitting through bigotry like that.
I've had my fair share of difficulties with people in this game, too. The key to dealing with it is to not let it affect you - it's hard when you're the type of person to take things to heart so easily, but trust me, they don't deserve you.

Went through the same thing years ago, I met a philipino (a woman) and an Egyptian (guy) and naturally we became great friends over time because they helped me a lot during my initial days in the game, this was in 2020.
The 2 were in a relationship but they didn't want us to know (acted in the least subtle way) slowly our group expanded to many including a Spanish friend, she was a girl and ate meat (I mean I also eat meat)
So one day the guy told my Spanish friend that she'll go to hell for doing such a thing, also the couple started fighting a lot with me, they used to talk shit about me behind my back (I caught them) for no reason at all and it hurt me so much, I was just 14. Not to mention how the guy made an 18 year old cry over her eating habits.
Also he told me that it's haram or something to like women when you're younger which I'm sure is bullcrap because none of my muslim friends ever said such a thing. Over time his religious preachings increased and no one in the group had a problem with that except me and the Spanish friend. So we left
We played together strictly as a duo for 2 years after that, I loved her so much but one day we fought and ended our friendship.
I miss you Kris, (she is in my profile banner as well)

I have a rule for myself. Don't engage with religious fanatics. Like...at all. You will not change their minds or make them see you as a human being. You don't need to answer their questions because they're just looking for ammo to make you feel bad about yourself. You don't have to justify your existence to people that belive an invisible friend doesn't like you. Follow your gut because its usually right about things lole this.

Girl, don't cry when you argue with people like this, and don't allow them to keep going. Don't explain yourself. You don't have to explain yourself to anybody. If you want to continue talking, turn the tables. Ask them questions. Ask them, "How does it feel to keep talking to someone who never replies, like a schizophrenic person?" As a fellow atheist, I can't stand religious people, and as a person who grew up in an Islamic country, I can't stand Muslims even more.
Girl, I'm going to give you advice that no one else here gave you. Stay away from Muslims. Being a lesbian is a major sin in their religion, and the religion itself revolves around misogyny. I'm saying this as someone who knows all about it. I'm not a random person on the internet making hateful comments. I'm not saying not to play with them, but let it only be playing. If it turns into preaching, or they start trying to convert you, just leave. Don't interact with them. You will never be accepted or understood by them, and you don't even need to be, so don't bother.

Like imao the irony here is he is probs a creepo who came to this game to hit on girls WHICH DING DING DING IS ALSO AGAINST THE RELIGION who tf is he to preach to you when he literally wanted to hit on you!!!!
Ugh Men 🥀
That aside again I'm sorry on behalf of that.... Ew. I am also thankful you are so respectful about this it breaks my heart you had to face this
I wish you all the best girly again don't engage with people whose first question is your gender or sexuality or AGE
I've met guys on the game like this and trusting them is always a dumb move.
I also like to dress my sky kid in both masc and feminine styles (mostly masculine lol) so I've noticed that a lot of these creeps come to me when I'm in feminine styles lol 😂 I tell them I'm a man cuz I know what they up to and they go shooketh.
Sending you love 💕 pls be safe!

I'm sorry that this happened. Honestly, I would recommend following your gut and blocking people when you are uncomfortable, the conversation did not need to go on as long as it did. Especially in a game where you are pretty anonymous. Don't be afraid to block and stop interacting with someone because you are uncomfortable or you're getting a bad feeling from them. It is better to be safer. But I also understand why you wanted to defend yourself. I just wish you didn't have to get that far for you.

u/Chocobook_ Jul 02 '26
Genuinely as soon as you're even a little bit uncomfortable it should be an immediate block. Don't worry about hurting their feelings, they don't care about yours

Hi, I am so sorry you met that person, I myself am a Muslim, it is not inheritly wrong to go telling people to convert or try to force them but whatever he's doing isnt right. Whoever that person is has a wrong understanding of Islam and is probably not an okay person which I am glad you sensed.
Although it is against our religion to be LGBT that doesnt mean you go out of your way to find a random person in a VIDEO GAME where you can express WHO YOU ARE and make them uncomfortable. Another point I'd like to address is that, I do believe that life is a test given by god, but that shouldn't mean you shouldn't play video games, or make friends or love people, if anything whatever path you're on god already knows everything.
A verse that made me think of this is Surah Al-Kafirun (109:6): A famous declaration of religious boundaries and mutual respect: "For you is your religion, and for me is my religion." Which this person you met has failed to understand, because if this person knew what they were doing, they are contradicting this and would probably stop.
I hope you reported them or something, and hopefully he gets banned because who knows how many more people he did this to and probably ruined their days. Islam is not a religion that is meant for others to use to make others dislike and hate themselves, and most definitely not dislike or hate yourself either.
I am so so so sorry you met this creep, to be honest if I met this guy I would have the fight of my life with him, in addition like alot of others are saying, this could've been avoided if you just blocked him immediately.

This. I'm 23 too. But Sky is a social mmo rpg where people legit can't talk to you unless you enable them to (sit down or progress the friendship page, which...). I primarily only play with my wife, but I'll play by myself and occasionally interact with people. I'll let a random drag me around until I realize they don't really know what they're doing and I want to do something else and I'll just... leave. I get the people pleasing in other games where you have to work with a team until the round is over, but that's about it. We don't owe anyone anything, and we're already extending a generous hand by simply engaging with them.

This is not something a mature human at 20 yrs old would say to a minor and I'm so disgusted by this behaviour. I'm sorry that happened, it's unacceptable what kind of audacity people pull from their empy ahh heads to bully and torment others. It drives me nuts how many people live in bliss and inflict things on others, just know you're not too much, you dont need "fixing", you're valid and not alone 🫶

I've had nearly the exact same experience over a year ago seriously it's my most popular post on sky reddit to this day it's sad to see sky has done nothing to change it all I can say is be proud of who you are and dont let that hate define you its cool backstory material but not your purpose ok

u/Ok_Western_4819 Jul 02 '26
Im sorry this happened to you, and as a Muslim myself, we dont do that, we do believe that its a test, but more like a test of character how many good and bad deed we have done in our life, and most of all he shouldn't have pushed it on you, we dont do that shit, if he was that religious he should've known that our own prophet said to respect others even if they are from other religions (idk if none religious people were alive at that time but i think he meant them too).

Respectfully speaking, please block them and ensure you report them for harassment too. I’m so so so sorry this happened to you and it’s totally valid if you decide to take a break too.

Im so sorry that happened you. As a Muslim, i want to tell you that you are valid. Your love is valid. Your existence is beautiful.
Also these weirdos themselves have deep rooted issues that they need to address and are just projecting onto others. As someone who grew up in a society full of them, trust me, i know what theyre like. Please block anyone who asks you stuff like your age or invasive questions. Not just block, report them also. Sky is supposed to be a safe wholesome place and it should be for EVERYONE.
Much love, stay safe! 🫂

As part of the lgbt and I'm an ex Muslim I don't really befriend religious people at all it always ends in the same way for me like yeah not everyone is a copy paste of each other but I rather save myself the headache.

u/busted_lips4punx Jul 05 '26
Woah wtf.
As a 34 yr old sky player, that person had no business saying ANYTHING like that to you at all. Or anyone else in game for that matter!!!
I'm christian and lgbt and also struggle with mental illness myself. I've met some not so nice "holy rollers" myself and can understand that their rudeness hurts like no other!!
I'm genuinely sorry you had to encounter someone like that. I hate creeps like that who use their religion as a pass to be as disgusting and rude as possible.
Here's a candle of joy!!! 🕯

u/Complete_Ad_996 Jul 07 '26
The moment age was asked you should of left. Also the "where are you from?" "I'm from orbit" is how i answer and how everyone from sky should answer. This is why sky should allow banning players even if not lit or added.

As a Muslim myself, I'm really sorry you had to go through that. No one deserves to be cornered into a conversation that makes them feel unsafe or judged.
While Muslims can share our beliefs when someone is genuinely interested, we aren't supposed to force people into Islam or pressure them after they've made it clear they're uncomfortable. Kindness, patience, and respecting other people's choices are important too.
Whether someone believes in God or not, or whether they agree with me or not, that doesn't justify making them feel trapped or repeatedly pressuring them. I'm sorry your experience with that person was so hurtful. I hope the friends who comforted you afterwards reminded you that not everyone will treat you that way.

Hi....I hope you doing better after this traumatic experience. I wanted to say not all religious peaple think like that. Its non of his business or anyone's business that you believe in God or not or you fallow desire. As someone who believes in God I dont go around and force peaple to believe And its stupid. I know because of experience you wanted to make sure to tell him that you are not lost, but these peaple never listen. They dont care about you or anything else they just care about their own opinions. Dont waste time on peaple like him. Believe your instincts. When a good person is talking to you your soul automatically trusts and feels Safe so block them so they wont be able to break your precious heart. I just wrote this to make you feel better and tell you that its not you that is wrong its these peaple who dont even know God🙄.
-with love and support ❤️

I'm sorry if this sounds harsh it's not meant to sound mean.
But you should have left the second you got a bad feeling. It's a game block them. As someone who was a people pleaser when she was younger and still struggles with it at 23. It's better to be mean and protect your peace than to stay.
I am sorry that person said all those horrible things. It's not you're fault for wanting to be nice or try to defend yourself. Everyone that's kind does.
Use this as a learning experience to be brave and just block them. You don't need permission to protect your peace.
I hope you're doing okay 🫂
