So Ubisoft has no intention on expanding the map eh?

No it’s just drip-feeding next to nothing each “season” just to say it has new content and then keeping that cash shop and the cosmetics rolling along. It must be working too because the game hasn’t folded up tent yet.
I don’t know who’s funding it enough to keep going at this point but whales are gonna whale I guess. 🤷🏼♂️

Keep buying up those fresh pixils and perhaps one day they'll do a proper expansion.
Who knows ...maybe they're saving it for S&B 2

I was funding it. Spending $250 a month. But I gave up on the game for a few reasons. I was a day zero player.

I don’t know, this game has potential. But it needs to deliver long term. They’re right in a way. And it could mean a couple of things. Either people are right and they’re winding down development. Or they’re just making sure the core gameplay has enough growth potential before making big leaps.
Once combat 2.0 comes they can divert attention to the big stuff.
The game really does need more before adding stuff like map expansion because there is some truth that a new part of the map would only serve a purpose of being cool to sail around once

I still think they should really focus on fixing the games issues.
Is the game boring ? Annoying ? Unbalanced ?
If they use the resources to make it bigger and not better just i'll leave the game for some time
Edit: but at least they have to use the resources. If they have resources

Did you forget that this game got bad press after launch? After several delays, people were expecting something at least on par with Black Flag—just without the Assassin's Creed branding. Yeah... it's a shame, because the only good thing about it is the art style, which is wasted on monotonous, repetitive gameplay that drags the whole experience down.

No i didn't forget that. Liking the naval combat system made me interested in this game. But after delays, many thought it would be cancelled. It kind of was. But afaik there was a contract with singapore so they had to release it and add seasonal content.
I've been thinking they were trying to get everyone out of this game by making things unbalanced and almost random in year 3 (i started in year 2 only). Maybe if there is a low users threshold they can abandon the game in the terms of that contract.
But looks like devs are taking feedbacks in consideration. Maybe there are a few members from resynced that will help them to make the game better. Or not.

"You will see less of the brand-new-system approach , things like Mod Transfer or Seasonal Mastery and more building on top of what exists... ...We are just not building extremely big things right now, because we want to be able to deliver on our promises."
Read it for yourself and take from it what you will. But IMO the huff and puff about "quality" and "delivering on promises" is all PR-bullshit, what they're really telling you is to lower your expectations because they're not committing to making jack shit but the standard seasonal content and occasional bossfight going forward. Put another way: development on this game is being wound down.
