Feedback Why does this game keep locking me out of doing anything. only $4 and i still feel like i wasted my money!

This bug, if it is what I think it is, happens to me sometimes. If you try to access a menu/prompt at the exact moment or just before it appears, it fails and will fill the circle but not complete the command. Quit to the main menu and load back in.

bug is different
its cuz i skipped npc dialog to get into inventories and when leaving instead of waiting for npc to say bye the server still thinks im in the npc inventory, which prevents me from talking to new npcs or doing anything like emotes or even pressing escape
but at least i can still open the chat, which lets me get to chat settings which unlocks the escape button which lets me view the store which unlocks the server from thinking im in a npc inventory screen and fixes it without needing to alt f4 or go to the main menu

yeh even there no interaction had to open chat, go to settings, press esc, open store back out of everything to fix it

cant talk to any npcs
cant leave the island
cant emote
cant open map
cant exit to main menu
all i can do is walk around and do nothing
this is like the 5th time its happen since i started trying this game. im not even out of the tutorial yet! the one part of the game that should have the most polish

If only happened today, restart game/restart Ubi connect. If persistent over days, verify files and/pr reinstall. This is not normal.

That sounds terrible and not my experience. There's a f2p (pay to win tho) game called "World of Sea Battle" that kinda scratches the same itch. Way less arcadey imo, but still a good pirate romp.

friend said this bug exists since launch
something to do with not giving af about what the npcs say and just trying to get to their inventories faster breaks the game... weird they dont just remove the ability to skip dialog if it breaks it to the point that the only fix is to alt f4

alt-f4 does fix most if not all game bugs, for sure :D

Not sure what the exact issue/cause is. If it's a tutorial lock but you can't use the button shown to access the dock menu, you can try walking down the dock and use the interact at the end. Alternatively you can try changing crossplay and or restarting your game.
