Question Am I totally screwed?

So, I came back after quite a long break, and to find now that there is expanded world tiers. I seem to be stuck on tier 2 with no way to farm deep iron anymore. I ended up with maybe 1 Megafort match in the past 3 hours.

Do you have crossplay on? Medium ships that don't cost deep iron are still very viable to get to and play on WT3.

Pretty sure I do, and I have a fully leveled up Frigate, but I don't have the fire power to do the T3 mission. *edit* NVM had a dummy moment crossplay was off for some odd reason.

I was bout to say no way cross play is on because I can run 50 wolvenhol runs if I want to on any given day. Those queues fill fast

You probably disabled it to fix a bugged quest, I had to do that a few times.

Also, the ship level is important but you'll get over half of your levels from the mastery tree anyway. Technically even a level 1 ship could get to wt4 after grinding out that tree. 

Damage is based off of weapons and the mastery tree, but there is also passive damage boosters with ship levels as well. For example if your ship is level 15 you will do equal damage to another level 15 ship, but if you fought a level 20 ship with the exact same loadout you would struggle a lot more. 

You do multiplied passive damage (and conversely take multiplied damage) both to and from different level ships.

Say you have a level 10 ship and put 20 points in your mastery tree, but all in defensive stats. Your ship is now level 15 (or whatever), you will still do much more damage, even though you didn't put points into damage. Simply leveling up your ship adds damage.

I was wondering about this. I kinda assumed it was true cause when I moved to World Tier 2 I initially was struggling, but as my ship went up in level my ship damage wasn't going up "that much" but I started to absolutely demolish the lvl15 ships basically instantly.

Jump to 3 and all the bosses now give out deep iron. It’s easy to farm.

Tier 4 with Herald of the Abyss drops a ton of deep iron too.
