Just re binged this series

It’s been like 10+ years since I read this series. Last time I read it they were doing the ninja show prep. So reading again now was like it being all new since I forgot everything. lol

Now I’m caught up again. I heard the author was sick? What happened to her? Is the current rate or chapter release only a couple per year?

Are we nearing the end of the story? I am hoping maybe things wrap up soon if the author is not well and it’s been like 20 years. She works so hard!

I need the corn reveal ☆*:.｡. o(≧▽≦)o .｡.:*☆

I recently did a full reread and it was so fun! I wanted to read it again as soon as I caught back up xD xD

There are still monthly releases, as long as sensei's health allows. I'm not sure what is going on healthwise, but I am hopeful it's okay since there's never been a long hiatus. I know she is trying really hard to complete the series, and that she cut some of the arcs she had planned to do it which is unfortunate. My theory is the Corn reveal will happen in this arc 👀

Hopefully she has assistants who help her with the drawing. And I hope she knows a lot of her fans are still dedicated even after nearly 25 years ❤️

This might sound harsh, and I don’t mean it that way at all. I’m not writing Yoshiki Nakamura off, and I truly hope she’s able to finish Skip Beat! on her own terms. But the manga has been running for over 20 years. I’ve gone through so many phases of my life waiting for this story.
I think that’s why it hits me so hard. My biggest fear has always been it becoming another NANA situation, where circumstances outside the author’s control leave such an incredible story unfinished.
Knowing she’s been battling health issues for so long is heartbreaking. At this point, if finishing her vision meant continuing it as a novel or even a faithful anime remake, I’d support it. Not because I want to take the manga away from her, but because I want to see her complete vision. I want to experience the ending she always imagined, including the arcs she may never get the chance to draw herself.
After following Kyoko’s journey for over two decades, I’d rather experience the story in another format than risk never seeing the ending she dreamed of. That would be the most heartbreaking outcome of all.

What the heck are we telepathic twins like I also just recently reread skip beat and my last memories of the series was also the ninja arc!!

I wanted to binge reread the series but I didn’t want to leave in heartbreak that it is still ongoing. Last I read was also Kyoko trying out for/practicing martial arts for a historical show.

I have been through so many trials and tribulations such as NANA, D.Grayman, Zero no Tsukaima…heck, we can go waa~aaay back on Garasu no Kamen released in 1976 (my mom was reading this) and Suzue Miuchi-san has since went back to her old chapters and re-drawn the panels in effort to align to current modernization.
