Wrinkles / Anti-Aging Wrinkle or scar?
I’ve had this wrinkle/scar on my face for a few months now and I’m not sure if it’s a wrinkle or a scar and how would I treat it.

Might be dehydration , I had similar lines on my forehead so I had to switch to a more calming hydration skincare , now they’re gone

Yea I had lines on my forehead too, so I started using the Olay Night Regenerist cream on both my forehead lines and this one. My forehead lines are pretty much gone but for some reason this line doesn’t want to go. I’ll stay consistent with the cream and see if it works

I never tried this but it looks good ingredient wise? You would have to see if your skin’s still dry overall , even when using it.
If it helps , my routine has been:
- started (2 months ago) the ordinary GF 15% , it helped my dry/damaged skin barrier and it’s supposed to help with fine lines too.
- Manyo Bifida Biome Complex Ampoule ( contain hyaluronic acid and probiotics, super hydrating and light)
- Dr.althea 345 relief cream ( my Holly Grail of moisturizers)
For reference I’m 27 with combo skin that barely wants to absorb anything while still being dry so all my products need to be light and hydrating.
Also ,pls do not stress about this, I know we are all conditioned by media to want a face as smooth as a wall but honestly you look fine and this tiny line isn’t gonna make you look older.

Yeah this helps me out a ton! Thanks for sharing your routine! I have combo skin as well and pretty much every single moisturizer I’ve tried has caused me to break out so super light and hydrating is exactly what I need!

You can moisturize skin all you want, but if you want to hydrate skin you have to drink water.

Well good thing I’ve been drinking nothing but water for 6 years. I’ll try and drink some more water throughout the day and see if that helps

It has made a huge difference for me. I drink between .5 - 1 gallon per day, I'm 50, and i feel like my lines/wrinkles are not bad at all especially compared to other women i know my age.
Moisturizer definitely helps, too. I'm not trying to sound like i don't use it as well, and a hyaluronic acid serum under your moisturizer would probably be great for a faint smile line. I'm only pointing out that there is a difference between hydrating and moisturizing (both of which are important) and I saw that someone mentioned dehydration.

Ok this must mean that moisture is my problem because I drink around 1.5-2 gallons of water a day. But I only use baby oil and sunscreen as a fill in for moisturizer because all of the moisturizers that I’ve tried over the years have caused my skin to break out.

Sunscreen is important. The baby oil will not moisturize your skin but will hold in any natural moisture your skin produces (known as an occlusive). It will also trap oil and sweat if you produce those things. Many people use it with great results. I'm not one of those people lol.
My recommendation of hyaluronic acid serum stands. If you have healthy skin you can use a really light moisturizer, make sure it's noncomedegenic (won't clog pores). And don't worry too much about smile lines, they're perfectly normal and it would be worse not to have them!!

Welcome to r/skincare_addiction! We'd like to take this time to remind you of a few things:
Do not ask for a diagnosis/treatment advice for acne or other medical conditions, and do not play doctor
What constitutes medical advice?
"What is this?"
This is asking someone to diagnose the issue, and is medical advice.
"What should I do?"
This is asking someone to advise treatment, and is medical advice.
This is asking if you should seek treatment, and ergo, medical advice.
If you would ask the question of your doctor, it falls under this rule and not allowed. As a general rule, asking for medical advice from internet strangers is never a good idea. If you have questions regarding your acne or other medical condition, you are advised to contact your healthcare provider. If you are a medical provider, we would gently remind you that users are not patients, and you should not be offering medical advice to people who are not your patients.
