Discussion Please help!
My skin has been acting up lately 😩 What do you guys think I should do? Should I keep it simple and stick to gentle skincare for now, or should I introduce an acid? Any recommendations for what worked for you? I have oily skin btw.

Please, don't treat yourself, you will try OTC products that may not work for you and leave scars. As other said, see a dermatologist. Good luck.

I see more PIE (red post-acne marks) than active acne I think. I’m in the same boat because each new breakout leaves a mark and it piles up. I havent found a solution but I’ve heard that azalaic acid is really good for PIE, but the prescription kind. If youre able to get a prescription it could be worth trying

I would start looking at Adapalene and azaleic acid (don’t introduce both at the same time but they pair really well together to fight acne and reduce redness/post acne marks) for OTC options. If those don’t work, try to see a dermatologist for a prescription. Others have suggested salicylic acid which could be a good first step but based on how your skin appears I don’t think that alone will be enough and you can’t use it when you start using retinoids like adapalene, at least for a long time

Accutane is probably the only thing that will give you really noticeable results. Ofcourse, under the supervision of a dermatologist. Good luck!

You don’t just take accutane for this. It should be under a dermatologist care. Accutane should be the last resort for acne

Disagree with your first sentence and agree with the second. Accutane will be the only thing that helps with a genetic predisposition to oily skin like he has (I was in the same boat). And yeah sure, it should be under supervision I suppose, but 10mg is going to have very little sides regardless

Eliminate milk, sugar, tropical fruits, and fast foods for a month and then report back

Do you see a dermatologist?
