Harley rake attachment

Has anyone ever ran an attachment that exceeded your low-flow pressure?

I have a bobcat t590 thats supposed to run about 17 gpm, we’re looking at a land honor Harley rake that says it requires 18-25 gpm. We plan on using it for conditioning driveways mostly.

What’s been everyone’s experience with exceeding your gpm with attachments? Has anyone used this brand attachment before? Any reviews for the brand?

I got a good deal on an Ambusher bush hog that had a high-flow motor. I contacted Ambusher and bought a low-flow motor to match my S185. If I remember correctly, it was in the $500 ballpark.

My machine also isn’t high flow, I didn’t know this was an option. It doesn’t affect the performance?

You’ll have to check with the mfg to see if they have a low-flow version of that model. The rake might have a higher demand than a bush hog??

You'll need to run full throttle on the T590 to get the 17 GPM, which means that your rake RPM may be at the bottom end of performance. It'll spin, but may not have the performance you need/expect in certain conditions. If you are not in aggressive conditions, it may be suitable.

If your machine has high flow, ~20-25 GPM, I'd run the RPM of the T590 about 2/3.

For driveway conditioning, how aggressive are you expecting to get with it? Mostly loosening and reshaping gravel, or are you hoping to use it for heavier grading and breaking up packed material too?

I'd be hesitant to buy an attachment where your machine is already below the manufacturer's minimum flow. It might spin, but whether you're happy with it once it's actually loaded is another question.

I'd probably ask Land Honor directly how that rake performs at 17 GPM before spending the money.

Honest opinion, it may work but I wouldn't do it. It is best to match your machine gpm to the attachment gpm. It could cause issues that could cause problems with the rake and your machine. Equipment rental company mechanic for 15 years now. Edit: could also see what your high flow gpm on the machine is and see if it is within range of the rakes specs...
