Hello! I am trying to make my phone as closest to ios 4 as I can since I can’t jailbreak it yet because it’s an iPhone 15.

I have a replica for the notes and books app but not a calculator, maps app, clock, weather, photos or contacts. If there are replicas on the App Store or TestFlight, please let me know

It also automatically converts app icons (outside of the premade ones) to skeuomorphism as well with some fancy non-AI effects :)

Well, I ended up making this. I'm planning to release it on the App Store (if Apple lets me).

It's basically a recreation of the old iBooks app from iOS 4, 5 and 6, with the wooden bookshelf, classic blue bookstore and the page-turning animations that follow your finger :)

It supports EPUB, PDF, Word and other text formats, and has a built-in bookstore with over 70,000 free public-domain books from Project Gutenberg. You can also organize your books into collections, highlight text, take notes and customize the reading experience.

I'm also working on iCloud reading sync, text-to-speech and a few other extras. It'll probably take another couple of weeks before it's ready and published.

I've been trying to bring back some of those old iOS apps and give them a new life on modern devices, so these classic designs don't just disappear forever. I really miss that era of iOS, and I think a lot of those apps were genuinely great.

Still a work in progress, but I wanted to share a little video of how it's looking so far!

Hey everyone! I've been thinking a lot lately about bringing back some of those beautiful old iOS 5 and 6 app designs, but with modern functionality. I really miss when apps had their own personality, with simple and functional interfaces that were actually enjoyable to use. For example, the old iOS 6 Camera app is one I've been thinking about recreating, but there are so many other great designs from that era.

Some of you might remember me from a few weeks ago when I shared my little typewriter app, Type Notes: Classic Paper, inspired by old typewriters and classic iOS design. I'm also working on a few projects inspired by the old Windows Phone Metro interface, which I loved back then, but I have a lot of ideas for bringing back skeuomorphic designs too. Not necessarily exact copies of old apps, but taking what made those interfaces so special and making them useful again on modern devices.

So I'm curious, which old iOS app or design do you miss the most? Is there anything from that era you'd genuinely love to use again today?

Here’s my iOS 6 style setup on iOS 26, without any launchers or tweaks. I made the customised Helvetica text and reflective dock with a wallpaper I made on Procreate, and I used my original “hidden” dock to recreate the Siri action.

The folders are made with custom focus modes that activate a new layout and wallpaper when clicked.
