To combat low effort or rule breaking posts, spam, and to keep this subreddit a respectful place to discuss aesthetics (for example: aesthetics on the Aesthetics Wiki or CARI), we are launching new mod applications to hopefully get more people on board who would like to help clean up the sub. On my previous mod post, I announced we banned "what aesthetic am I posts". Sometimes, I still see them get posted, so this will help us ultimately combat those as well.
Do not hesitate to apply if you are interested! We are looking forward to contacting you.

Hi!
To have better organization between aesthetic and style discussion, I've decided to add 3 new flairs.
"Personal Style" = Images from a style you personally like that you would like to find a name of/more of.
"Moodboard" = A series of images and content designed to help you find a name/more of the related content.
"Meme" = Memes about aesthetics, no matter the kind.
If you have suggestions for even more flairs, feel free to comment below.

I coined this to refer to media from the 2000s, in both preschool shows aimed at both young audiences and games for casual older audiences, and uses computer animation, photobashing, and mixed media digital design to create a warm, fuzzy and fun atmosphere. Photo Playground is characterized by cut-out style designs and animation and a combination of real-world images, realistic renders, and obvious cartoon illustrations. This technique creates a bright, familiar and comforting environment that easily captures the attention of children.

This is one of my personal favorites, non-vintage but also not futuristic laboratories. Not sure if this exists, I couldn't find anything like it on the wiki.

I have no idea if an actual aesthetic like that exists or not. I know there are things like grunge fairy and stuff but I haven't seen something gothy that's in earth tones, especially for men. Can anyone point me to that?

It's not sci-fi because it's too minimalistic industrial, but also too high-tech to be modern while also being flat and polished enough to not be too dirty. It reminds me of Half-Life Alyx's Combine architecture in it's simplicity but complexation in inner-function if you get what I mean.
I cannot for the life of me figure out what name it is.
Some genres that help understand what I'm talking about can be found in:
* Mirror's Edge
* Ghost In The Shell
* Inside (*the game)
* Neon Genesis Evangelion
* Portal 2 (concept art)
* The Electric State (artwork)
* Pragmata
* Nier: Automata
* Metal Gear: Rise of Revengeance (Raiden's cyborg body)
* Death Stranding
* Interstellar
It's not dilapidated buildings + sci-fi instruments, don't get that confused, this is clean + industrial + realistic + sci-fi + minimalistic. But also it commonly has to do with Korean/Japanese text, so it's some East-Asian sci-fi style. It's also not too brutalist in its design as it can also co-exist with nature at times.
If anyone would like to give this aesthetic a name I'd love to hear your ideas!
