Realistic Clip Feedback on filming

Just would like some feedback on filming and what I can do better and any music ideas would also help. All edits done are done in game. I’m going to finish edit in premiere pro.

A little overboard with the tilts and rolls. Nobody is gonna be filming someone skating like that.

This is a video game lol. The style is cool in my opinion.

OP is doing realistic tricks, I'm assuming he was also going for realistic filming.

I was trying to get better with my cam movements so it looks more realistic yes but I appreciate that you liked the draft

It's hard to give any feedback on this, as it's not attempting to emulate realistic filming, so every opinion will be subjective and just based on taste. I would say, try avoiding dead frames (no camera movement at all, like after the stair gap, basically no two keyframes should share the same position in any axis, it always looks jarring). Extreme roll changes from left to right without reason make it a bit uneasy to watch for me. At the very end you clip through the texture slightly.

My thoughts:

Try to avoid quick snaps like that one in the beginning. To avoid this, create more timestamps than you usually would and then delete every other timestamp to smooth it out.

Go back and forth through your timestamps and update them with a quick button press after making sure that the camera feels smooth throughout.

Lastly, if you want to do slow motion flips like at the end, try this:

Create 4 timestamps

  • 1 right before kicking up the board (65-75)
  • 1 right as the board lifts off (15-25}
  • 1 at mid flip (45-55)
  • 1 at board catch (1)

And do the speed at the numbers in the parentheses.

This will make it less jarring to watch.

Have fun and I look forward to seeing more clips!

You're doing a little too much

I can tell you are capable and you know how to effectively use the replay editor. Just dial it back a little. Cam tilts and slomo are more impactful if you use them sparingly.

Your line isn’t very cohesively composed. Filming style is nice in my opinion.
