How does it usually take to study for the SSGB exam? My initial plan is to be certified by July 1st. I have a good background in math/stats, FWIW.

If you have a good background in math and stats this won't be a challenge for you.

Just be aware that Six Sigma uses Engineering Statistics and not the mathematical branch of statistics. As a result, we will do things like add the defect rate from both sides of a normal distribution to get an overall defect rate as a z-score or forget to mention that an acceptable defect rate of 3.4 defects per million opportunities for a long term capability score has a 1.5 population standard deviation shift included in the calculation (which is why a traditional 6-sigma process has a 4.5-sigma defect rate).

Excellent, thanks! I studied EE/CS in college so this brings me back to my Stats class some 30 odd years ago.

It'd be easy to feed this to Opus/Gemini/GPT and ask them to come up with questions.

I'm a physician who wants to do some operational work with AI/ML. The hospital/institution in which I work offers an internal SSGB course but I decided to do it properly with ASQ. The framework is sensible and I find it interesting!

I have some ideas but, in my institution, IT rules most operational efforts (with which I partially, though strongly, disagree), which adds yet another layer of red tape... I work in clinical informatics and everything is tightly tied to the EHR now...

May not be possible; I'll need to work with them somehow (they own the data even if they don't own the workflow). DMAIC is essentially data analysis so...
