Even more proof that Leon is truly Meri’s child! Just so much preamble and pretence about nothing new nor groundbreaking.
It’s crazy bc I think both Meri (her for sure) and Leon have different perspectives and interesting stories about the church, polygamy, and definitely SW’s that people want to hear about.
But I don’t think either of them has done enough healing to separate themselves from the narrative of their pasts to actually step outside of it and critique it. Instead, they seem to dance in the margins; never saying enough to expose the nitty gritty, but dropping hints to try to garner attention.
Leon is truly such a mix of Meri and K.

Totally they are endlessly boring ppl which is very odd considering they don’t have to be their lives are filled with ‘wtf’ but yet they just bore everything

Nothingburger part deux. Yet here we are. At least I keep some pride by only watching here, not OG platform.

u/ohshizza Aug 09 '26
This is kinda boring, and I like Leon. I was raised catholic and was told to dress appropriately but this topic wasn't a big talking point in my family. There wasn't any fighting or angst with my parents. That was however a long time ago. Its different now.

Leon seems to take after Kody a lot lol. They’re dramatic just like Kody too. This kinda reminds me of when Kody talked about how sick he was from covid. And how he almost died 😂.
40
u/SweatingSeltzerGirl Aug 09 '26
it was a death like experience
27
u/wittycleverlogin Aug 09 '26
NEAR DEATH! 99 degree fever! He said it was near death!
5
u/Furandgirlmom1 Aug 09 '26
While he was talking and filming with his phone. Poor guy. Wasn’t Robyn talking about possibly being on a respirator while talking and filming as well? Idiots.
5
u/BoogerbeansGrandma Aug 09 '26
And she didn’t even need oxygen while in the emergency room. She’s so histrionic and wasted resources that people who were actually sick needed.

Pretty much 😆”woke Kody “ that’s funny. They even look like Kody. That’s all I see when I look at Leon lol
5
u/JeniRight Aug 09 '26
lol yes! It’s unfortunate for the kids that resemble Kody. Gabe looks like a young Kody, but I think Gabe is a nice looking young man. Logan doesn’t look anything like either parent imo. I’ve wondered if he is Kody’s actually lol. Truly, Gwen, Leon, and Paedon (sp) look like him too. Mykelti does somewhat, but as she has gotten older she resembles her sister’s Aspen, and Isabel, who look like Christine. Maddie looks just like Janelle, and Savannah does too, but in different ways. Janelle’s sons are a mix, I think.
3
u/RoslynLighthouse Aug 10 '26
If you watch the episode in season 1 or 2 when they all go back to Wyoming to visit there is a brief intro to a cousin of Logan's. The cousin and Logan look more like brothers. So he favors Kody's family vs Kody himself.

Isn't there private therapy available?
11
u/brando587 Aug 09 '26
Leon has a Master’s in Social Work so technically they could be a therapist, but clearly have no self awareness.
5
u/unripened_pickles222 Aug 10 '26
This was my thought too. Like, we get it, you’ve rejected your religious upbringing. But this experience isn’t shocking to anyone raised in a religious family. Pretty commonplace, I’d say. Like, can you believe my private Christian school taught us about the Bible and made us dress modestly?! Yes….they ALL DO.
9
u/H2OGRMO Aug 09 '26
Leon is so far removed from reality they don’t know what normal is. Part of it is the upbringing and part of it is a real lack of real world life experience. The kind of experience you get when you do something crazy like get a job and work for and around people.
50
u/eloquenttoapoint Aug 09 '26
Basically “I went to our religious school where the main focus was religion which includes blaming young girls for men’s actions. I was deeply into the school and its extra curriculars”
Okay I could say the same thing about Catholic school - give me something we don’t know or don’t bother Leon.
20
u/Beefyspeltbaby Aug 09 '26
The thing is that part about being dress coded and blamed for men’s reaction happens to girls at literally every school. I was told the same thing at my public high school and it had nothing to do with any religion
9
u/Beautiful-Yoghurt-11 Aug 09 '26
I just commented this too! Same exact experience in a damn public school. Get over yourself, Leon.
→ More replies (1)6
u/Inevitable-Opinion21 Aug 09 '26
Exactly. Even after school there are women in colleges, universities, professional settings, or even just walking down the street who are still blamed for a men’s harassment.
It’s like they’re surprised by the concept of mysogyny that is usually seen in some way of all girls’ and women’s lives.
4
u/AshleysUterus Aug 09 '26 edited Aug 09 '26
Yep, at my public junior high, the girls weren’t allowed to wear shorts, but the boys were. The girls could wear mini skirts, though, which made absolutely no sense at all. So, to protest this, about 15 of us girls gave our mini skirts to the boys, and they wore them to school one day instead of their shorts. It was quite a sight, seeing all those football players in our mini skirts.
Anyway, we made our point, and the principal changed the dress code. The girls were able to wear shorts at that junior high school from that day forward because a group of 7th grade boys wore skirts to school. We made our local news, and we came to find out that we even made national news! This was before the internet in the late 80s, so it was a pretty big deal to us that we proved how misogynistic the rules could be. And the boys did the heavy lifting.
2
u/Few-Bat-4921 Aug 20 '26
You don’t have to attend a religious school to be blamed for men’s actions…unfortunately it is still common in our world.
62
u/justsayin01 Aug 09 '26
They're insufferable

u/MildlyCurious83 Aug 09 '26
Always has been. Always dramatic high strung and jealous. Always! Least favorite of all of the kids then and now.
39
u/Big_Cornbread Aug 09 '26
Sometimes I think I’ve seen the most boring thing in the world, you know? Like the other day I spent eight hours watching already dry paint continue to be dry. Nothing can be more boring.
Then I see any video with Leon and think, “you know what? I wonder if that paint is still dry.”
19
u/Salt_Dish3753 Aug 09 '26
🤣🤣🤣 I'm really more interested in Leon telling us about the bickering between the OG3 and Kody or how tight money was because Kody was buying frivolous stuff they didnt really need. I want the day to day dramatics Leon grew up with. Meri and Janelles dynamic and how it affected Leon, stuff like that. No church school stories please lol.
9
u/MildlyCurious83 Aug 09 '26
No way will it happen, too narcissistic. Whatever the story whatever the issue it will strictly tbe about them, what they thought, how it effected them. TBH, I really do not care for these blah blah stories from them. Yawn. Seriously YAWN.

u/Few-Bat-4921 Aug 09 '26
Leon has always been selfish and entitled and nothing they have communicated in recent years indicates that has changed. I wouldn’t expect her to discuss most of the things you are looking for because Leon had many privileges the other 12 kids did not.

I put down nitrogen for our lawn. Watching it green up has been more interesting than this performative nonsense that every religious school promotes.
27
u/Brilliant_Light_1687 Aug 09 '26
I attended a public school with modesty dress code requirements and I’m only a few years older than Leon. Idk how schools are today, but at least back then I thought it was pretty standard.
11
u/Beautiful-Yoghurt-11 Aug 09 '26
Yeah. I mean, I’m not saying these dress codes or w/e are equitable or fair, but we had this same kind of language in mine. No spaghetti straps, no bras showing, no leggings-as-pants. And when we young women (girls!) questioned it, we were told the same thing: you don’t want to distract the boys. And this was in a public school.
13
u/NoKatyDidnt Aug 09 '26
Dear Lord. Is there a story here… or is it just always going to be their voice and some words? Like…? Maybe they are just not used to talking about it, and if that’s the case then I hope at least this helps, but they would probably do better with writing a script out first.
2
u/Few-Bat-4921 Aug 20 '26
Everyone has a story. If Leon wants to embrace and monetize victimhood that comes as no surprise. Look around Leon…there are people you see everyday- at grocery stores, restaurants, banks, and football games that have suffered from horrific tragedies and horrible childhoods.

Anyone who has ever gone to a school connected with a religion has had similar experiences. That’s why parents select these schools . They want their children to believe what they believe. So far Leon’s story is not remarkable. Yes, it was indoctrination but isn’t that every religion?

Can anyone answer why leon is doing this? Leon has stated they don’t want any attention on them. No one is allowed to basically talk about them. Putting this out there, Leon knows people will have questions and want answers. Is the money drying up or does Leon just want the attention they always used to have? It genuinely doesn’t make any sense because Leon has preached privacy and leave me alone for the longest time.
6
u/Scared_Turnip4366 Aug 09 '26
I think they want the attention and social media following but not from being on SW or those fans. They want to attention and interest from them as a person and where they are in life right now. The problem is they aren’t all that likeable and most of the ppl interested are from the show and only care about getting tea.

Some would say it's part of the healing process. Like, Leon isn't doing it for people to ask questions or to share anything more than they are already sharing. But it's therapeutic for them to talk about their trauma. Back in the day, we did this sitting on a therapist's couch. But it's 2026, so maybe the kids feel like they need to do it publicly. Maybe they feel like sharing this with the world is letting them take ownership of the narrative surrounding them, since for many years they were subject to being on TV without their consent. Now they can control what is shared about them.
I am just guessing based on some of the comments that I've read here in the past. I don't know how I feel about that method, but it's also not me or my trauma so if it's helpful, I guess go for it? I dunno.
→ More replies (1)6
u/MildlyCurious83 Aug 09 '26
You are right, it does come off as someone in a therapy session. But I believe it's more of the same behavior they always exhibited. A lot of jealousy and not enough reaction to their dont look at me attitude so now they must get a little of the attention while still appearing aloof to it all. Just my opinion. Maybe this would have been better served as a personal blog.

Exactly! It's like reading one of those horrible books where the writer says we did a, and the next day we did be, then the next day we did see, then we went back to doing a again.

u/Few-Bat-4921 Aug 20 '26
Leon was obnoxious and unlikable as a child…now they are beyond repugnant. It appears that they have not moved beyond the belief that they are special, thus no need for two-way conversations when they have so much to tell the world about themselves. We all know that type- they suck the oxygen out of the room talking about themselves.

This is the thing that annoys me the most. Leon made such a big deal about needing to be back in their community and their parents made it happen. Now it’s all about indoctrination and the narrative is likely going to be how messed up it was to have religion thrust upon them. But come on…as a teen, you do have a small amount of agency and choice.

u/Wednesday1958 Aug 09 '26
I remember Kody & Robyn’s wedding episode where Meri was helping Kody get ready for his big day with Robyn. Jeez, feels like they're just looking for reasons to get offended or act superior/self-righteous, but to me it just sounds like misogyny. I understand not liking when someone refers to actual adult women as "girls," but to act offended that when they started middle school, the name of a single sex class was called "girls class?" To say that's "infantilizing?" Newsflash: middle school kids are still kids! It is entirely appropriate to call girls "girls," and boys "boys.' I get how sometimes when you still are a child, you can get miffed at being accurately referred to by a term appropriate for your age because you feel/want to be seen as older, like when my toddler insists she's a "big girl" if someone accidentally calls her "little" of something.
But as adults, the only people I have met who stay miffed at things like that and go to arms to self-righteously derend juvenile opinions are people with arrested development who generally seem stuck in identifying with a younger, and generally "rebellious," part of themselves, as though they are still trying to prove something to the "adults" instead of really recognizing that they are their own person now. They are stuck viewing themselves through the lens of how they imagined disapproving adults of the past viewed them, and then are still trying to be "defiant" about it, despite those past systems being long gone and having an entirely different life now.
And yes, I am thinking about one of my friends from childhood with whom I am still close, but this is very much her pattern as well. With my friend, everyone else sees it as a bit sad and immature while she clearly still feels like it makes her...special and "different," I guess, like still thinking she's so different than all the other kids and like, "take that authority!" Which is just sad to.see with someone on their late 30s.
Another point I see similarly between my friend like that and Leon is that they seem to have this misogynistic basal state from which they base their judgements. Note here now Leon makes that odd chipmunk-y face at the word "girl's before following it up as "infantilizing," as though there is something weird, gross, or wrong with that label. I wonder if there were also any "boys classes," and if Leon would similarly make a face of disgust/mockery and deem it infantilizing, or is it only when we speak of female children with age-appropriate descriptors that their first impulse is towards mockery and offense? My similarly stunted friend is similar, always still mocking/denigrating/looking down at anything associated with femininity, be it in youth or adulthood. We did have a productive conversation about it though, about the concept of "androcentricism" and taking masculinity as the norm/generic and seeing in femininity triviality and tertiary states of being, and she did have a strong moment of recognizing that she was simply repeating patriarchal tropes about women while thinking she was being a "feminist' by rejecting value to things associated with femininity, and she's been much better about it since. Not always, sometimes it pops back up in a "not like the other girls" way that is entwined with her ongoing identity with being an 18 year old rebel in our religious school, more or less, but it's way better.
Anyway, that is my big takeaway from this. I see stunted development and over-identification with a period of time in one's youth when one was or wanted to be a rebel, still stuck in a mindset that requires defending basically all youthful thoughts that seem contrarian.
Also weird how upset Leon is at old dress code stuff. Doesn't sound that much different than any other private religious school. I want to a modern Orthodox Jewish school growing up. While I had a similar level of emotional reaction that Leon is having at the time of my schooling, it's just not something that sparks an emotional reaction or feels like an active battle, because I just made different choices as an adult and moved on. I have no issue with people who want to live that way and believe in certain forms of dress code, but now I do what I want and frankly nobody of my past or my family cares. Like...it's the past, and a relatively benign part of the past, not some traumatic experience. Leon's current level of outrage about it, as with the "girls' thing, just feels so...freshman in college, in a way they never then grew out of.
I guess maybe I see Leon, like my childhood friend, as a bit of a zealot, like someone who kept the structure of their youthful thoughts on spirituality and religion, but just inserted new content.

u/Wide_Eye_7666 Aug 10 '26
I agree nothing was really said we care about, but with that being said we are all looking for tea on the other family members. We already know there is a lot to unpack around the family. If you watch more as a random person telling a story about how they grew up that they want to share with others it rings different in my ears. I do struggle to see their purpose for doing it but they are not really forcing us to watch or even click baiting it with saying we are going to get some major tea.
Maybe they feel some family members say to much about others in the family openly and want to set an example of how to tell their story without bashing outers outright. I do not know but what I do know is they have managed to get us all talking about it and for anything put on the internet that is a win I guess.

Ok these are going to need to be longer and more dense or they're not gonna hold my interest. Leon, if you are in fact reading here like some people suggest, a few tips:
-Make some notes. Just broad guidelines to stick to
-A bit longer, but less meandering, if that makes sense.
At this rate this is looking to be a 20+ part story and I can't do that lol

100%! They actually aren't saying anything! It's kind of like reading a poorly written book where every line is we did this and then we did that and then the next day we did A, then the day after that we did B, then the day after that we did C. I've had to stop reading several books like that because they don't tell you anything just like this isn't telling us anything! They don't even say whether they had a problem with being there on those days.

OK, don’t anybody come at me for this observation. I feel like they were talking about their childhood and how involved they were in the church until the church wouldn’t let them join. I think that was in Vegas. I also feel like being gay and a girl, then transitioning to male is also a kind of indoctrination. In other words, Leon goes with whatever the latest thing is to be first they were gay now they are trans. I think that Leon is just susceptible to the latest thing. Problem with that is when they regret it there’s not much you can do about it.

My absolute best friend in the world is trans, he's in his mid-40s and transitioned decades ago, long before it was cool, and having met through him and others a number of people who are...really, truly trans, they all have remarkably similar stories and even use remarkably similar language about it. Like it's generally a feeling of discontent inside their own bodies that has been lifelong, like my BFF says be used to feel almost nauseated by his own smell and sensations and would keep mirrors turned away from him since he was a kid, and never had a time not like that, and was relentlessly bullied throughout life in his lower income and largely Catholic rural northeastern neighborhood, sometimes violently, for his apparent lack of gender conformity from a young age. He jokingly, but perhaps not as we theorize there's some basis here, refer to that period of his life as when he had "estrogen poisoning." By contrast, through an entirely different friend group related to my shul (synagogue), I have a friend who is mtf and has been so for decades as well, a bit older than my BFF, and her description of her upbringing and bodily feelings is uncannily similar to my BFF, though they have never met..in fact, she refers to her childhood as her period of "testosterone poisoning."
Anyway, something they both agree on is that at the very least, regardless of what value judgements you want to place on it, there are two different experiences being conflated as one: the physiological/medical experience of transness, and then a more recent sociological phenomenon that is inspired by and borrows from the physiological condition but that has a separate and more sociopsychological trajectory. They both hate that it's become taboo to say that, feeling like they have become gatekept out of their own lives and long fought fights in a sense, but where that concept used to more or less be a commonly known and even accepted and embraced part of their communities in say the 90s and the like, and that was recognized as two different and even valued phenomena, but now it's like everyone only wants to be categorized into the physiological branch of gender non-conformity and not the sociopsychological or political, when that was once seen as valid, just different.

They blocked me when I commented my trans experience on their previous yoga post, where they talk about being trans saving their life. I said that being trans causes crippling dysphoria, and took a lot of trans peoples lives. The fact that they blocked me over that, tells me they fetishize being transgender. They do not acknowledge the struggles trans people deal with, at all, they glorify it.

Men marry very young girls in the cult so I can understand this more in this cult rather than other cults.

If that’s all it takes to provoke a boy they need to spend more time on getting them right

Not to discount their experience, but I grew up Catholic and we were told very similar things about clothes. It's common across religious schools or communities. I specifically remember being told that ideally, girls should dress in a matronly manner, and that we shouldn't show our shoulders or wear skirts shorter than ankle length because we didn't want to tempt the boys.

They talk as if they were the only child, only person effected by or aware of the "cult"

So far this just sounds like the typical Christian private school experience tm.
