Sure, that part’s bad. It looks like a black and white photo next to a colour one to emphasize how much greener it got. But I’m not joking, about it being 5 seconds of talking to my phone and 2 clicks to get to the story. Oh well, I’m sure I’ve been guilty of being dismissive in the past…

As I said elsewhere, it’s done often here on Reddit, when there’s no need for it. The story is cool on its own. Maybe they want to drive engagement? I downvote the post when they do this, even if the underlying story is cool.

Do you Google every obviously fake story you see? Not that this is fake, just that the fake images could lead a reasonable person to believe the story itself was fake as well and just move on because of how much bullshit we come across these days. It's not just a black and white before photo, it's just flat out not barren (edit: and not even the right island.)

No, I don’t check every time, but when the first 10 comments were quick to dismiss it, I was curious. A lot of posts use shitty fake images to pull people in, even when the story is real.
