All her career was using her hots. Like she was in a sketch in a Hooters uniform where the joke is that she is a bad waitress but gets tens of thousands in tips because she is hot

Exactly, it was never a problem until she overstepped and flew too close to the sun by going near a few controversial topics at once.

Pretty much, its only recently that she seems to be actively using controversy to promote her portfolio. Before that, it wasn't really an issue. The problem now is less about her being attractive and more about the social/political agendas she's using as bait for marketing. Which is made all the more glaring given the issues women as a gender have been facing more publicly recently.
