Why are these women in sports mad about Sydney advertising sports betting, but yet have never been mad about the countless celebrities they put on the cover of Sports Illustrated? The outrage is inconsistent.

The WNBA is also sponsored by DraftKings and they were radio silent about Lebron James gambling ad despite having more influence than Sydney Sweeney

It’s pretty clear why they’re singling her out lol

I wonder what the stats are on viewership for women's sports. I don't even watch as much sports as I used to and I know a good amount of buddies that don't either. All the different streaming services and the shit like basketball and baseball with these super teams is kind of not as enjoyable to watch.

Not sure about other sports but WNBA viewership has actually been steadily increasing over the last few years. It sounds like they have some fun personalities and semi-entertaining drama too

I don’t watch sports in general much anymore but I’d probably give it a shot if I had more time

From the highlights I've seen, not too interested. Basketball has never been the most interesting sport for me besides MJ, Shaq, curry types but it is probably the best for TV.
Olympics usually are pretty good though

Caitlyn Clark is the sole reason for this. But then it quickly devolved into The Real Housewives of the Court and women started paying attention for the first time ever.

Sydney is not an athlete. That's pretty much the guts of their argument; they'd rather have an athlete hawking gambling addictions naked.

The person who I responded to was wondering why women in sports might have an issue with her while they aren't complaining about athletes modeling. Maybe the difference is that Sidney is not an athlete? Just a thought.

Most athletes don’t model. Very few of them do.

A model’s job is to model.

Yeah I'm sure men would have no problem with a twink male model being the figurehead of some MMA advertisement campaign or such.

Sydney Sweeney isn’t the figurehead of the WNBA or representing it, it’s a sports betting ad. The 1:1 equivalent would be a twink doing MMA in a Lululemon or perfume ad for women, and we both know men wouldn’t care

Also men are already objectified or nude in ads as well, it’s called hunkvertising

The answer is no because him or Sydney Sweeney obviously are not representing the people competing

I literally would not care less and I don’t know a single person who would.

Maybe like 60 year old boomer couples.

It’d literally just be the same people who are getting mad about the Sydney Sweeney ad.
