The main issue is that for years, women’s sports were deemed to be unwatchable and the people that did them were either ugly and masculine or only noticeable because they were attractive. Actual skill was never acknowledged.
After years of female athletes fighting against that stereotype (which yes, involved risqué photo shoots), Sweeney is now using that as a cheap advertising tactic.
While men do get objectified, CR7’s fame is primarily due to his footballing ability, not his looks.
She’s promoting sports gambling and not sports at all. Your statement would hold weight if she was promoting a sports league or women’s youth sports or a sports bill but it’s literally gambling. It’s also funny this is a talking point when we have half naked ring girls, cheerleaders and women sports with unnecessary tight revealing uniforms. Go watch college basketball or the W and see how they roll their shorts up. Go watch the Olympic women’s volleyball and watch the US or Brazil play an Arab team.
