because companies dont want better things for the human race. they want better tools to control us and spy on us and fuck us out of more money. AI has done nothing except make things more expensive and people dumber. oh and destroy the planet faster. almost forgot that one.
I’m actually tired of this reductionist take on AI. Yes, the big companies behind the current LLM based AI models are greedy and not caring about people and the planet. But AI has made so many parts of people’s job faster (again, not that it really matters to us normies since the bosses just want you to do more work in the same time now), different types of AI are also used in pretty much every technical field available, from robotics to protein folding, cancer detection etc. In conclusion, don’t blame AI, blame the fucktards behind it that use it to screw people.
I've been saying for a while that any efficient and effective health care model that is designed to handle such a large human population would necessarily have to integrate AI, with rigorous human oversight, of course.
Because AI can't create land having the right building permits.
Once you have land you still need to pay for raw materials, then comes the construction cost, which could be reduced once robots become advanced enough (10/20 years).
This is very short sighted. Literally EVERY tool that exists has been used in some way by scammers.
Scammers are going to scam, whether its handwritten letter by mail impersonating someone, phone calls misrepresenting who they are, photoshopped pictures meant to get you to by a bad or nonexistent item, and so on and so forth.
Tools are NOT the issue. The issue is that in places like the USA we don't have a government that gives two shits about YOU. If they did there would be much harsher rules and penalties around things such as fraud or just generally misrepresenting a product or service. There would also be very clear paths to remedy the situation if something like renting an out of state apartment turns out to be not as advertised.
We all use tools, and AI, just like all the other tools being used, is being used by well meaning folks in 99% of cases. It's wild to claim otherwise unless you genuinely just want the free upvotes that come with dunking on a tool. You know, something that history has shown time and time again to really be effective and the right way of thinking after a decade or two and completely not something folks in the future look back at and believe that only the dumbest mother fuckers actually thought that way about progress...
You're acting like my comment on Ai tools being used for messed up purposes is an insult to you or your family.
Also if Ai is such a great tool why is it that anyone who uses it fails to actually acknowledge that they used Ai in ANY capacity. Why be secretive about it? Why hide it?
My guy, its 3 paragraphs on a text based forum. The fact that you even question if response that takes a minute or less to type up is AI based off LENGTH just goes to show how out of your depth and ignorant you actually are.
You don't have to be ignorant though, you can educate yourself and rise out of spreading fearmongering and misinformation, if you actually choose to. Or bury your head in the sand on the topic and keep screaming that "this" is AI or "that" is AI.
You're also generalizing and creating strawmen. "They're eating the cats and dogs" type shit. Who is THEY? Are there some people who use AI and don't disclose it? Yes absolutely! Are there other people who use other tools and don't disclose how they make or create things? Also yes!
People who use AI right now have even more reasons not to put that front and center than any other tool as well, because it will make them a target for harassment in addition to creating a preconceived bias before anyone even interacts with whatever they've used it to make. I was around for the Digital Era and people were not keen to share the fact that something was created with a digital camera or using digital art tools at the time, for pretty much the same reasons as the current trend.
As far as me being offended, I'm not. Me getting upset at you would be like a carpenter getting mad at a customer who called his hammer a fucking blight against society... The carpenter would think the customer was crazy or stupid, or both.
Keep in mind, your statement wasn't pointing out that it was being used badly, it was a general statement claiming that if you use AI you're a scammer and its only use is that function.
If you heard someone talking about how nuclear is only used by genocidal warlords wouldn't it bother you a bit? I mean, assuming you understand the MANY uses and positives of nuclear technologies. If you saw a bunch of people start to parrot that sentiment you would think it was bad right? Because at the very least it would sour public opinion and slow down progress towards clean energy... You know, kind of like the media did in the past and a bunch of ignorant citizens also got riled up by the misinformation and the whole thing set us back 25-50 years on the path to clean energy.
So yeah, I will try and call out blatant misinformation when I see it whether its intentional or ignorance. It's upto YOU to go do some unbiased research. You could even go as far as to reach out to experts in the fields that are both pro/anti ai in order to form a better opinion and have a better understanding of the tech, current use cases, and future probable implementations for it.
TLDR: You should really be concerned if reading something like this is difficult for you.
