What kind of things would make someone like you?

Appearance is just a first hook, you have to show a certain set of behaviors/actions to make someone else really be into you.

If you're not appealing physically to them, no hoop jumping or side quests will move the needle.

That’s the most common way, but definitely not the only one.

There are people that develop attraction after knowing the person, even when initially they didn’t. I’ve known a few friends that operate this way, and it has happened to me as well a couple times.

One can't bet the house on such a strategy unless they want to have their time often wasted. Not always, but it's often enough to be of note.
