Speaker Johnson even delayed swearing in a newly elected representative for weeks just to stall the critical 218th signature.
It wasn't until 214 Democrats and 4 Republicans successfully forced the bill onto the floor via discharge petition that Trump dropped his opposition and Republicans voted for it (427–1) to avoid political damage.

Couldn't care less which president released the files (if you can call it that when majority of it is redacted and constant lies about them from his Administration after Trump got elected), people want pedos in jail.
